B&B HOTEL Bochum Hbf-Süd

Rooms were good enough, but be warned when staying here on a weekend ask for a room that is not facing the square behind the station as there is a nightclub there. Needless to say I didn't get any sleep until about 4am.

The place is nice. The breakfast buffet is very good. The room is a little small but it wasn't bad. The receptionists were helpful with anything that I needed.

The hotel is relatively inexpensive. It seemed relatively modern and comfortably. The room is small, but it had everything that I needed. It is close to the central railroad station, which has local and regional connections as well as a sub-way. One thing to note is that the walls, especially to the corridor, is quite thin, and thus the room can at times be a bit noisy.

The Ibis Bochum Zentrum (IBZ) is located directly adjacent to the Bochum HBF train station. Walk out the back entrance of the HBF, and the IBZ is directly in front of you. (If you walk out the front entrance, turn to the left and walk through the underpass on University Ave.) The IBZ is a typical Ibis property. The rooms are quite small, but clean, modern and comfortable. The staff at the IBZ was very accomodating and efficient. I needed an early check-in, and there was no problem with that at all. There is nothing of interest in the immediate neighborhood, as the IBZ is on the "other side" of the railroad tracks from downtown Bochum. However, the IBZ is only a 5 minute walk to the "good side" of the railroad tracks, which is the lively part of Bochum.

Good hotel, handy for rail station, room small but fine for one person.

Quick and easy check in. Friendly staff. Good location. Yes the room is small, but bed is comfortable and no noise from outside. Stayed here last year and would stay again, just because if the location

Room is clean, "efficient" (slightly on the small side). Good WiFi. A bit tricky to handle large suitcases, but all in all very nice.

For a weekend stay the hotel is what you want, if you cannot afford luxury, but dont want real budget. Right on top of the station, which is the hub of Bochum, across the road from the shops and 5 mins wall to the Bermuda deck (bars, restaurants etc). The room was very clean and the hotel looks newly refurbished. Although the bathroom was a little small, it was adequate for 2 nights, but the bed was very good. Dont forget to catch Starlight Express, a taxi is 7€ from the station to the theatre.

I was made very welcome by the Reception Staff whose apologies for not speaking perfect English were heartfelt, as were mine for not speaking good German - especially as I was in their country. The room was immediately available and very clean, though slightly cramped for a couple (I was travelling alone). The bar/public area was clean and well furnished - no signs of wear. Why does there have to be a "but" ? In this case - why do some hotels still persist in charging for Wi-Fi? It was free in the bar area but for private conversations in one's room there was a charge - minimum 4 EUROS. Apart from that minor point - a very good hotel, in the centre of town but quiet and undisturbed sleep, even with the window open. Thank you Ibis Zentrum, Bochum.
