Microtel Inn by Wyndham Raleigh-Durham Airport

It’s tired but clean and compared to nearby hotels great value. It had all the essentials right. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the internet worked and the shower was good. The air con was a little noisy - but worked well. Breakfast more a snack than a meal - but good full breakfast options nearby. I read a lot of negative reviews but saw nothing in my 3 nights there that gave me any concern. All guests I saw were good decent people.

The cleaning product they use had a strange smell - almost like someone had smoked cigarettes in the room.

The gas station right next door was nice. We needed food and water on the fly so that was very convenient.

Parking was very limited. The front desk guy was kind of abrasive and screwed around before helping us, even though there was no one there and no apparent tasks being done. We didn't even stay more than 4 hours (painfully late arrival and an early rise requirement on our part) but it wasn't great. The TV was a pain in the a to figure out, wifi wouldn't connect so we could stream, beds were creaky. I know it's in the name, but to anyone speed booking--if planes keep you up, this isn't the place for you. I sleep through anything so I wasn't bothered but the incoming/outgoing flights. My friend however didn't sleep at all because of it.

I liked the fact that hotel was close to airport. It saved so much time.

As soon as I entered my room, there was a bug on the wall plus there were cockroaches in the bathroom. Also Pillowcases and sheet had black stains.
