Super 8 by Wyndham Portsmouth - Norfolk

This property needs major help. From the outside it looked old a beat up. Once you got inside it was even worse. The rooms were large but nothing inside. Had a table but no chair. A bed that rumbled when you got on it. The bathroom was disturbing. Like they just filled it all with white puddy. Half redone and it looked horrible. There were many sketching figures appearing thruout the night. Seemed to have drug or sex work traffic constant. I would never stay there again. Dirty and unsafe. Had to move first room because the door was so kicked in you could have easily broken in.

me and my husband stayed here for my birthday. we go there and the guy at the desk wasn’t really interested in doing his job. we got the key went to our room. me and my husband looked at the room before settling in for the night. the sheets had a brown poop stain on them the bathroom door was not even working there was a towel on the floor the pillows were hard. so we took the sheets off. the next day me and husband decided to make a quick target trip after we ate. we got our own sheets and pillows. and we get to the door our key wasn’t working. we call the front desk guy and yet again dosent seem interested in his job. told us that key next to your phone won’t work. we have the key no where near our phones. come the following day we check out and tell the guys the inconveniences we endured. he just laughed in my face saying “why didn’t you tell us it’s a hotel.” to which i told him we did even my husband asked for new sheets and never got them. needless to say this was far the worst experience by far. so unclean and the area wasn’t making me or my husband feel safe.

I was told they “just became a super 8”. There were spiders in my bed. Mould in the bathroom. The room stunk of decades of smoking and mould. When I closed the bathroom door the smoke detector fell off the wall. There’s a community of “residents” who hang out outside the room and are noisy and smoke. The electrical outlets - some were missing - others upside down. No night lamps to charge my phone by bed. Oh… and I was greater at 6 am with NO HOT WATER. Do not stay here - sleep in your car first. I’m just happy mine wasn’t stolen and I was able to leave.

Terrible place ever i’ll never go back.

The workmanship on the rooms was terrible. Very cheap and unfinished looking. Bed was fine. A/C worked well. Okay place for one night.

Ok. Breakfast was good. Kitchen waitresses were not the greatest

Do not recommend to anyone until the construction is done and people aren't living at the other end. Did not feel safe wouldn't be surprised if there was cameras in the hotel watching you. They made sure to tell me not to smoke but as soon as we walked in to our room all you smelled was pot. Shower was hot but was like a jet stream from a garden hose. Had a bed a dresser that would not close. TV was left on. Loud banging noises through the night. We got it cause it had a pool that was not open. People walking around all hours of the night. We got a security deposit back but left a night early told we would get that next night back never did. Just felt VERY VERY unsafe. Wouldn't recommend to anyone the way it was no light covers on the light switches. WORST hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. Doors in the room were drywall mudded shut. They had a water shut off valve as a door lock that did nothing but spun.

Very disappointed! When I arrived initially, I thought the GPS brought me to the wrong address because it looked abandoned, but I'd already pre-paid through Expedia so I said I'd go in and see. I was charged a $50 Deposit, which I'd done before, but when I asked for a Receipt there were 2 different dollar amounts shown. The Clerk assured me those amounts would "drop off" upon check-out, so I took his word for it. I then confirmed he had a "non-smoking" room for me, to which he responded, "Yes, all our rooms are non-smoking." When I got to the room, not only did it have a bad odor, but it smelled like smoke. There were baby spiders in several areas of the room, including on one of the pillows on the bed. There were at least 3 flies buzzing annoyingly around the room. It didn't look like the shower had been cleaned out, there was hair in the tub and on the wall. To be honest, it looked as if it had been vacant a long time prior to me checking in. Fast forward to Check-out, same Clerk from Check-in. I expressed my concerns about the smell of Smoke. (Woke up several times feeling awful- have Asthma) He then informed me it was "previously a smoking room and hadn't been renovated yet". He then went on to tell me they recently took over the property, aren't finished, and just started that side. Which explains why it looked abandoned. Also, the Charges are still incorrect. I'd just like a Full Refund at this point, but can't reach anyone at Expedia.
