Hotel Riu Palace Macao - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Very good hotel

Everything about this resort was wonderful!! Except for cleanliness of my room upon check in!

My room was dirty and had mold. Meals at the buffet was the exact same everyday and that was very disappointing. I stayed in the “elite club” area and received a sparkling wine as a gift. The metal cap was rusty and the cork had mold. Got a replacement and it had mold as well. Room wasn’t cleaned properly even had a spider in the corner of my bathroom floor behind the door. I requested a room change but one wasn’t available as I had a swim up room. Bathroom sink doesn’t drain properly reported it, nobody came and fixed it. The area I was staying in hallway was dirty. My room door itself had mold spores on it and the walls and headboard area also has sign of mold. The coffee machine area was dirty and the cord for the coffee machine has mold. I killed a mosquito on the night stand and they came and “cleaned” the mosquito and the blood was still there.

I wasnt able to check in due to a medical emergency its has been 7 days since i am trying to reach their reservation staff to get and refund or modification horrible conpany horrible guest relation

As a first timer in this property, i wasnt too impressed. First, the person that checked us in wasnt that nice. Wilfredo shouldnt be in front desk. It took a while for them to check us in, he was talking to another customer, then for sure he noticed us in line to be checked in next but then entertained another customer first that came after us. Didnt even apologize for the gesture, just have no manners i guess. Then secondly, when we booked here in expedia it says it has $1400 resort credit which is a joke because you really cant use it, they give you discount coupon like $20 if your getting a massags, still cost you $150.Again, Wilfredo cant even suggest where else we can use the credit, right there dont fall for the resort credit only because its no use at all. Then the room we got has that stinky smell which i can also smell in the dining room of the buffet?? Not sure if its because of the hot weather. The food is okay, nothing fancy. Their restaurants have the same menu everyday. Thank God we only stayed 3 days, cant imagine longer than that and eating same thing. Buffet is okay, some are good some are not. The dining staff people are amazing tho, very nice and helpful. And the bar people are mostly nice. The beach is not the greatest, cant swim in it. They have feee shuttle which is nice from and to airport. Took us to the mall and souvenir shops. Its crazy how expensive they sell their souvenirs tho. Overall it was okay stay but wouldnt recommend.

We arrived a bit early and were informed that our room wasn’t ready, ok. We waited for over 4 hours in the lobby, where the front desk could see us and not once were we offered something to drink, bottled water, or any kind of assistance. We finally got a room and immediately found a mouse size roach in the bathroom. Housekeeping came and took care of it. After hanging out until 3am, we attempted to close the black out curtains and another roach, even larger was found on the curtains. They sent a gentleman to take care of that. Two minutes after he left, a third one ran across the wall and began to fly. We were offered two rooms to swap our current situation. Both had large roaches! A room on the opposite side of the resort resulted in an obnoxious a/c. We were changing rooms at 5:30am after being told our choices were a downgrade or the last room offered. To add insult to injury I was drugged while we sun bathed in the resort. Luckily my friend never lost consciousness. Complaints to management fell on deaf ears. I was assured I would get a response and never did. I was only informed by Expedia that the resort would not provide a refund or help in any way. I was devastated! This was my birthday mini vacation. I overheard two different individuals complain about their phones being stolen from their room. This hotel is not unsafe, they are rude, careless and have a disregard for their guests. Staff is uncaring and dismissive. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

The staff is extremely friendly and made us feel special. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi isn't great, but there's also no good reception for using my phone's internet. The food is very good, and the parties are a lot of fun.

Awesome hotel will stay again! The only thing I would suggest is to have more Dominican food in buffet

Great staff

Travelled as a family with young adult children , booked 2 x std rooms and 1x pool view on check in reception tired to give us 3x std rooms had to wait for the correct pool view to be given . The pool view room we had was lovely nice big balcony in the corner overlooking the whole resort so this was great , but bear in mind you will get a lot of noise from the pool bar and entertainment during the day it’s not a balcony to sit and relax peacefully. with a drink of an evening after a day at the pool that said entertainment goes on til 11pm so it’s never late . Food is outstanding we did the buffet , Asian and Steak House all absolutely superb this has to be one of the best hotels for food we have stayed at , staff in all were great . Coffee shop does great coffees and cakes highly recommend this . Cubana bar is lovely but staff utterly miserable , gym was good but air-con kept breaking so this was utterly miserable to have a hard work out as it was like a sweat box also some of the cables on the equipment needs serous attention some are about to snap ! . One day we had no power for over 5 hours totally unacceptable to not have any back up . Riu team great but to note for water aerobics I don’t really want to be giving other guests head and back massages and rubbing their ears this was so weird so didn’t do it again I love a good work out but I just do not get this it’s really uncomfortable. Pools are way too hot absolutely no relief at all . Riu parties great for all ages we had some fab nights over at the party pool we found the evening parties the best . Now this next part does need some serious addressing security is non existent and we noticed some very serious issues with drug use everywhere,weed being smoked round the pool and in the rooms the place stank of it and in addition guests behaviour drinking and smoking all day was raising some serious security issues , we had cause to alert security and they never came for over 30 minutes and also no lifeguard on duty at all we saw people totally in a state in the pools at night which was an accident waiting to happen , you have multiple personal stereos going round the pool along with the coral bar music and then music from the entertainment team it is way too much and you cannot get any peace , we love a good time and have frequented many other Riu hotels but this is hotel the clientele ruin it just over the top loud and screaming for the whole resort to hear and staff let it go and have absolutely no control or care to think of other guests. Overall the hotel and grounds are immaculate but it just felt like being in the ghetto some days ,for the staff that told me the smoking of weed is legal I can tell you it isn’t and I don’t expect it in a Riu hotel at the level we saw it was rife . The lack of security is an accident waiting to happen just watch this space . There was good and bad at this hotel the Dominican people are lovely and I hate to see how some guest treat them . Lots to like but not enough to return and management is too lax with everything going on here .
