Hotel Riu Palace Macao - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Visited from 23-29 December. Beach areas had a lot of sea grass floating in the waves that sort of ruined that part for me. Pool areas are not bad except for an extreme lack of umbrellas, only 1 umbrella per 10-12 loungers although they did have canopied areas of loungers with an adjustable roof, but most of them were broken in 1 place or another making adjustments difficult. Did not feel any enthusiasm from the entertainment crew here and this is the 3rd RIU property in 5 years I have been at. Not once during our stay did a staff member or supervisor come up to ask how our visit was did we need anything, how were the rooms , etc,etc. Booked the Elite Club room with the private pool that was nice , the staff at the Elite club Beach could have done better on checking the eligibility of people using the little cabanas there as I watched people without the elite wristbands using them. My personal suggestions would be move the volleyball net 10 meters towards the beach to prevent the players constantly hitting the ball into the people laying around the pool, more staff friendliness training (more Hola, como esta) more lively music, just because it's loud and has a ton of bass doesn't mean it's good. Would have liked to find an early morning coffee and snack option, the existing coffee shop should have a menu board for those of us who are not familiar with different options available. All in all a nice visit, would I recommend, yes. Will I be back, no.

We always visit Riu hotels with our two daughters. We stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana in July and it was good, but this time we decided to go to the Riu Palace Macao and the experience was much better. The entertainment is excellent; there isn't much noise, they only use loud sounds when necessary, which is perfect. The games and shows are very varied, and the food and drinks are excellent,We went to Pacha Disco and the music has improved a lot; it was much better. When we were there in July, it was very boring, and the DJ spoke a lot in Spanish into the microphone, but this time it was different. The music was very varied, and everyone was dancing. We met Pedro, the DJ, who was very friendly and accommodating. He's also the DJ at the Riu Macao Hotel, where we met him again. He was very friendly and speaks English very well. The DJ from last time didn't understand when people asked him about a song. Overall, we had a wonderful time. All the staff are very friendly, especially the entertainment staff and Pedro, who was very kind and always asked if everything was alright in our room or if we had any problems. We also noticed that Pedro asked these questions of other guests, trying to make sure everything was okay on our vacation. He was very kind and attentive. They should have more employees like Pedro. I highly recommend this hotel; it's the best!

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The service was excellent—staff were attentive and helpful throughout my visit. The dining experience was impressive, with complete meals and a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, catering to different tastes. My room was spacious and comfortable, and I appreciated that housekeeping cleaned it even twice a day, which added a touch of luxury to the stay. However, one issue stood out: there was a noticeable damp smell in the room. This significantly detracted from the overall experience and is something the hotel should address promptly. Fixing this would elevate the stay from great to exceptional.

Hotel disaster. No contatc , you can write email , nobody answer to you . is danger pay reservation , I do not recomend. Chose can be better in anothers hotels

This hotel is beautiful. The staff cannot do enough for you . We were given a room with two beds on the fourth floor . When I said I was disappointed as it was our 40 th wedding anniversary , we were offered to change rooms with a super king sized bed and a fabulous view of the ocean . We loved all the restaurants , but our favourite was Krystal. The food was lovely, and the setting was fantastic overlooking the beach . We were greeted with a glass of champagne . It was very special and I recommend people to try it . The beach was one of the best I have ever been to and the sea was lovely and warm . We will definitely return . Thanks for spoiling us again Rui hotels.

i had a lovely stay at the start of December. the hotel was clean, food immaculate and the staff were kind and very attentive. we stayed on the top floor and had no issues with damp/mold or bugs (we did get a baby lizard in our room who was super cute and was safely carried onto the balcony). all the a la carte restaurants were really tasty but the fusion was definately my favourite, i highly recommend going at least once ! the retro show was also a big standout and made for a fun evening ! the beach and weather was so lovely - i kept forgetting it was december ! also big shoutout to all the birds (my bird watching is going global), so cute!

Absolutely do not stay here. It started with the arrival at the airport where we were informed they did not have our reservation. We showed our email confirmation but they said it was not valid (this is through Destination Services) they then had us pay cash. We then wanted to verify our return but Riu pointed fingers at Destination Services and Destination Services pointed fingers at Riu. We will be taking an Uber back. The resort itself is nice though the room smelled of mildew. The TV didn’t work for the first 3 days. They made special mention that everything in the room is included as expected but the only thing in the room was a couple of bottles of water, sodas, and four bottles of alcohol. No snacks or anything else which I found funny but you can buy those things at the Market. BBB The food is ok but nothing special and the same with the drinks. I will not try the Riu brand anymore. I’ve stayed with Melia and xCaret. Riu could learn from them Next stop Iberostar

They wouldn’t let a medical team enter at the gate despite ID presentation. Very unsafe. I would be scared of staying here.

A few days after returning home, I believe it is the right time to share our experience. My husband and I usually stay at RIU hotels when we travel. Although I do not often write reviews, this hotel truly deserves special recognition. I would highly recommend RIU Palace Macao to anyone planning a trip to Punta Cana. We spent 14 nights at the resort and had a wonderful stay. The surroundings are beautiful and very well maintained. The resort itself is not very large, which makes everything easily accessible and very convenient. The rooms were consistently clean and well kept. The food was delicious and offered a good variety. Our favourite restaurants were the Kabuki Asian restaurant and the Volare Italian restaurant. The service throughout the hotel was excellent. Special thanks to Mateo and his colleague (unfortunately, I do not remember his name), who were both extremely friendly and professional. We most often met them at the Kabuki and Volare restaurants. I would also like to compliment the young woman working at the pool bar, whose name I sadly do not remember. The entertainment team truly deserves special mention. They are outstanding - very energetic, friendly, and always smiling. My highest praise goes to Urne, Idaury, and Willy Wonka (as he introduced himself), who often led the morning sun salutation and stretching (our señorita 😁). I participated in all the activities offered and would like to sincerely thank the team once again. Their enthusiasm alone would be a reason for me to return to this hotel. Overall, our vacation was excellent. There are just a few small points that could be improved: 1) On a couple of occasions, we had to dine indoors at the buffet restaurant when outdoor seating was fully occupied. At times, there was a slight humidity smell inside. 2) Our first visit to the steakhouse did not fully meet our expectations; however, we truly appreciated the improvement during our second visit later in the stay. The food quality was noticeably better, and the staff were more attentive and welcoming. 3) Smoking around the pools and beach areas may be uncomfortable for non-smokers. Designated smoking areas could further enhance the overall guest experience.

Anyone wanting to come to an adult’s only 5* hotel in Dominican Republic with a chilled relaxing atmosphere right on the most stunning beach I would 💯 recommend this absolutely stunning hotel amazing food & banded alcohol ❤️The bedrooms are beautiful cleaned 3 times a day & mini fridge stocked up with beer water juice fizzy drinks tonic room service spot on fresh towels changed constantly waiter service round the pool plenty of amazing restaurants all serving top quality food and no chavs 😂
