Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Anchorage Airport

It really smells and the facility was dirty. They need to update the facility terrible 😒

We're in our mid-70s. We needed to pick up granddaughter and her sons from the airport after their long flight from Hawaii at 4:45 a.m...so they were pretty tired. We booked our room the day before so that we didn't have to drive the 3 hours from Soldotna to get them and drive back another 3 hours to Soldotna. We were able to bring them back to our room to freshen up by 5:25 a.m., let them freshen up, feed the baby, and rest for a couple of hours before checking out, setting out to get breakfast, and heading back to Soldotna. It was very convenient for us and not too tiring. Our room was on the 1st floor, so very convenient since my wife has difficulty walking.

It was all ok. My wife has a difficult time walking, so we were a bit disappointed that we were not able to get any handicap parking.

I love how quiet it is here, other than hearing planes occasionally. my husband loves the ability to watch the moose from our room. I also love the kitchenette for extended stays. I love how kind the staff are and that they try hard to accommodate you.

it could use a deeper clean. like the window sill have some black stuff in them. But, that is common in winter in alaska when you're keeping the curtains closed for heat. it could use a lamp by the couch for reading and such.

Watch out for the staff at this little hotel. You’ll often find staff arguing with a guest, refusing to rent to paying customers, and treating guests like bums once they have charged their credit card. Even if you don’t spend very much time in your room or at the hotel during your stay, you’ll find that a mysterious complaint has been lodged against your room, but they’ll never tell you what the complaint was. They’ll do their best to let you know you’re unwelcome, unwanted, and will be as unhelpful as they possibly can be. Never met a less friendly set of staff at any hotel or motel in my life. If you want to enjoy your stay at the Baymont, you should book an Airbnb nearby and just do donuts in the Baymont parking lot.

I arrived at the airport at 01:35 and called Baymont for their free shuttle service to the property at 02:00 after getting my bags and the shuttle was there promptly. The driver carefully lifted and packed my bags into the van and we arrived at the hotel in 10 minutes. Once there, the driver helped me carry my bags and locked the two checkin pieces in their closet for an early morning trip back to the airport to catch my next flight. Typically, the van goes hourly to the airport, but under the circumstances, the driver agreed to take me at 06:45 and he was ready and packed up my luggage and unpacked it at the airport. The property had a delicious breakfast with many food and beverage options at 06:30, so I was able to have breakfast before heading back to the airport. The property has undergone remodeling and is both functional and pleasing. I had a refrigerator in my room to store things that needed refrigeration. There was ample soap and shampoo/conditioner, and the shower has excellent water pressure. It was quiet and I was able to get a few hours of sleep before leaving to the airport. The staff was very kind and friendly.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff is so nice. They have a shuttle to the airport. The continental breakfast is good. It is clean and I felt safe there. There is a moose who visits the parking lot. That is a good photo op since you might not get that close to one again.
