Deer Lodge

We stayed at Deer Lodge previously so knew that it was dated in terms of rooms and facilities. But that is one of the aspects we liked is being a bit back in time. We stayed in the newly added heritage king rooms which were very comfortable. We ate in the dining room and the meals accommodated diverse eating needs including a three year old. We liked the hot tub too.

The room was so dirty there was hair on the floor and the room smelled like actual urine. we had to switch rooms and the second room was also extremely dirty. There were clipped toe nails in the bathroom, huge dust bunnies by the side of the bed. I literally took pictures it was THAT shockingly dirty. The cleaning crew who takes care of the queen tower rooms need to be replaced unfortunately. They definitely dont clean the floors.

The Dear Lodge was a very nice surprise. It has an old elegance with modern updates. Close to Lake Louise but away from the mass of visitors at the lake. Very friendly staff and good food.

Our room was spotless and freshly updated. The parking is excellent and close walking distance to Lake Louise. We even received complimentary breakfast in the morning, which was delicious.

Staff lovely, rooms clean great beds rooms slightly dated, the property is made up of a lot of dark wood however the lighting was extremely poor and a struggle to see steps etc. Breakfast was hit and miss when good was good but at times things run out or food was cold

Must be the worst GM in hotel history. Location is amazing.

I had an amazing experience

After a long day of driving, we got the last two rooms available. The hotel is over 100 years old and has some “quirks” but this only adds to the charm. The only disadvantage is due to its age, there is no elevator but the clerk was quick to offer assistance with baggage to 3rd floor. Would definitely stay again!
