Lovely staff, very welcoming. the hotel was everything we expected it to be, great location and very comfortable rooms

Breakfast was good but the organizing of seating people seemed chaotic. Every request seemed to be met with drama. We were a party of 3 in separate rooms. When we asked to sit together our request was met with a big sigh and we were made to feel like they had done us a favour to accommodate that.... in an empty restaurant! Also too many items were on the 'extra charge' list. Paying extra for a Cappuccino these days seems rather tight. Most hotel would have that for free.

"Hidden gem in Lake District"

It’s very clean, comfortable. Staff are friendly and help our questions. We had a shower head didn’t work well but after reporting, it got fixed very quickly. Breakfast is nice too.

Nothing. All very good and we enjoyed our stay.

"Good hotel in a beautiful setting."

Room was great - very comfortable, clean, well equipped with small desk & chairs, bathroom although very small met our needs and great to have a shower instead of shower-over-bath. Check in staff were very helpful and welcoming, The grounds are absolutely beautiful.

Alexanders pub was ok, menu slightly disappointing. Breakfast was disappointing - we were there about half way through the breakfast serving, but some items had run out (some of the cereals, fruit), but during the time we were there no one came to replace them. There was also a lack of staff overall, and no one came to offer us more tea or coffee. My husband did enjoy his full english breakfast.

"Great stay"

Ideal location, great room,lovely staff, had a alternative afternoon tea, which was great, special thanks to Sophie. Alexander's pub next door was also good with special offers. Hotel was very busy and buffet breakfast was well organised. Will definitely stay here again.
