Microtel Inn by Wyndham - Murfreesboro

It was a quick trip and was a nice place to stay. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

My two young daughters and I were flying into Nashville at 11:00 p.m. When we got off the plane I had a message from Microtel wondering if I still wanted my room (that I had booked earlier that day). When I called them back, they had given my room away. The terms for cancellation on my reservation were that I would not receive a refund if I canceled. Therefore, I was not concerned that my room would be given away since they were getting paid whether we showed up or not. They tried to book us into a different facility with exterior room entrances and no complimentary breakfast. Since I was traveling alone with my two daughters, I did not feel comfortable with that situation. I was forced to drive an additional hour (at midnight) in order to find a place to stay. The woman I spoke with was apologetic. She explained it was management's decision and informed me that I would not be charged. Which was the least acceptable result.

The location

Most of the electrical outlets did not work. The bathroom was in terrible shape- the toilet felt like it could collapse when you sat on it, and very outdated overall.

Good location

This place is SO nasty. As a solo traveler, I did NOT feel safe. Mold in the bathroom, water NEVER got hot, breakfast is basically empty of food no matter what time you go. Lights didn't work in the room, toilet was wobbling so badly. NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL

Not clean or kept up well. Floors both in the room, halls, and lobby were dirty. Walls in the hotel room were cover in cleanable stains and bed sheets were badly stained as well. There was a dirty towel in my room. I stayed for 6 nights and was unable to get clean towels. The “free” breakfast was pitiful. They had watered down the pancake batter to the point where it was inedible. The other food was old, stale, the milk was spoiled, coffee maker broken. Overall it just felt incredibly unclean and poorly maintained.
