Port Inn and Suites Portsmouth, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We loved Annie the woman who set up breakfast. She is a gem!

The man who checked Trish in, she didn't get his name but he was very nice and she said he took time to tell her all the important things about the hotel and all. We both travel a lot and many times the clerk just hands you a key and looks at you blankly. So it was nice to have one so engaged. The room was missing dishsoap and a couple of the dishes were dirty so we ask the audit person and he was nice enough to go down and get us a bottle. Both of these were on Sunday night, so kudos to both the 2nd shift and the audit shift clerks and thank you.

We paid extra for the kitchen as I was traveling with my son Ollie who is 8 and has CP. We planned to cook and eat at the room. This is a room that is meant for four people, but there were two plates, three wine glasses and tiny little mugs. There were SIX knives, but only three forks and two large spoons. No small spoons at all. We had to get plastic spoons for my son. There were only two sets of towels. And the bottom of the tub has no texture...it is SLICK. Also, one of the beds is right up against the heater. And it was loud with a rattle. Poor design. There are no USB plug in *we found these even in small villages in Germany* and the only plug around the beds that we could find was the one between with a lamp plugged into it. And...at least put a desk lamp in there with brighter light. There are two small lamps and the kitchen lights but they are really dim. Hard to do work when it's that dim.

Breakfast area. Staff and location

Room needed fresh paint. Heater was load and kept turning off and on all night. Kept me awake. Flooring in room was not warm and looked inexpensive

The staff was really nice. The breakfast was monitored by a very nice lady. The room was clean. The bathroom was small but functional. The price was right.

The room was small. The heat was loud. The hotel charged me despite me already having paid through booking.com. THis meant I had to spend time calling around to get this resolved.

Very convenient lodge at a very reasonable rate compared to all of the other accommodation we’d looked at in the area. We were delighted to discover we had been upgraded to a quiet room at the back of the lodge with a small kitchen area which meant we could prepare some meals ourselves. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic breakfast included in the price with tea and coffee available all day. Wrong time of year to visit the pool or use barbecue area but they looked great.

The breakfast was all pre packaged and we would have preferred some more freshly cooked food. Location is practical but not pretty, next door to a major road but that does make it easy to get to!

Room in back away from highway might be nicer but otherwise very pleased with our stay.

A great hotel overall. The pillows are amazing! The staff is great as well. Dining area is clean and breakfast was an egg cheese and bacon bagel, pretty decent. Coffee, juices, yogurts, pancakes, fruit, muffins, hard boiled eggs and some things I may not have even seen. Location is good just up from downtown Portsmouth and in the other direction is Rye beach. I am pretty sure we will back as I have family that just moved to NH.

OK so everything about our stay BUT there was a group of people above us as we were on ground floor and man were they loud until late and again in the morning very early. Not the hotels fault just some people do not think about others.

Nice quiet place. Everything was clean.

Location is busy

It was just a quick overnight stay to visit family nearby but it was great. Would definitely stay again!
