This is a beautiful property although not really walking distance from the town. It is set in a large garden with a large pool and lots of trees. Our suite was large and contemporary and very comfortable but we did have a few problems that we don’t expect in a five star resort hotel and member of the Small Luxury Collection. The biggest problem was in the otherwise great bathroom as it had a good size window that looked over the pool, but the there were no window coverings whatsoever so everyone outside could see straight in. When we told reception they actually seemed put out that we would complain about this and said that nobody has before. Unless they were nudists this is impossible. In any case they sent two men who applied an opaque film which solved the problem. When we tried to use the safe we found it was broken but it was replaced with another. That evening we heard a very loud sound of water coming from right outside the bedroom, which we thought was a broken pipe so we head to call reception for the third time. The young lady who came said it was from the air conditioner outside and she switched it off, but the next day it came back. We think it was actually someone running the bath or shower in the adjacent room. These are all issues that should not happen in a 5 star resort.

Situated high on a hill in the Luberon just outside of Gordes, it’s made of the ochre stone blocks the region is known for. The landscaping and sprinkling of sculptures around the beautifully manicured grounds is so lovely. We had a room with a balcony so we could watch the sky turn pink at sunset. The staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast on the patio was excellent- it’s a buffet and I especially enjoyed the wide range of cheeses offered. Dinner was delicious and not outrageously expensive. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool area is gorgeous! There are actually 2 pools, one indoor and the other outdoor. I didn’t get to try the spa but it looked very nice.

시설 수영장 스파 모두 매우 만족스러웠습니다. 다만 둘째날 어메니티 리필이 되어 있지 않은 부분과 마지막 체크아웃 결제때 약간의 계산 착오가 있었던 부분 (조식 신청을 취소했는데 반영되지 않아 최종 금액에 포함됨) 관련하여 별 하나 뺐습니다.

The spa, the room space, the facilities were all very nice

At breakfast, I asked one of the waiters for some still water. He told me that I can pick it up from the buffet. This should not be the answer at all SLH class hotel service mind set.

This hotel is definitely dated. The rooms are huge but the separate WC from the main bathroom, etc. is weird. Remodeling would be a nice transformation for this place because it has an excellent location. The buffet breakfast for 25 euros needs an upgrade too… no fresh omelettes or fresh vegetables or fresh anything. Lots of breads, I dont know if there are any better options for lodging in Gordes but if I could lower my expectations (and price) from a 5-star to a 4-star or even 3-star, I think this hotel would get better ratings.
