Travelodge by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale

Although the main area of the room was clean, the bathroom appeared in need of repair and the bath had not been cleaned prior to our arrival.

Difficult to say good things about this hotel, front doors locked and need inside release speaks volumes about the local area.

We stayed 2 nights when we first got to the room we saw the bedsheets had burn marks. The tv was placed on cardboard and the beds were super stif

What a crazy neighbourhood . Don,t go out after dark. I witnessed sketchy behaviour in 3 businesses just east of the motel during the early evening.. someone tried 3 times to get into our room during the night. Wife was very scared. I stayed behind the door yelling at him. Looking at the people staying here and wobbling onto the property ...i think this probability happens daily. The poor guy behind the front desk...he is barely holding onto side of this overturned ship.Isn't there some standards to be called a Travelodge. There was a fresh slash mark on the bed cover from a very sharp knife or box cutter. p.s. I felt dirtier after the shower and sitting on the bed watching TV then when checked in.

The room was filthy! The room smelled gross, graffiti in the bathroom, everything covered in dust and dirt, cigarettes burn in the sheets, blankets and pillows, no phone, no alarm clock, broken lock on the door. DEPLORABLE. Broken elevator.

We arrived at night. People were lounging all over the stairs. Motley crew and that is being nice. No elevator so we had to carry our heavy bags up 3 floors. Asked for a floor on the 1st but nothing was available. Probably better since people were everywhere down there. We felt so unsafe that we moved the furniture in front of the door as a barrier and slept as far from the window as possible. Room was filthy. We wouldn't use the bathroom and bedding had stuff on it. We didn't research what it was but it was gross. If we could have found another hotel, we would have but we hunkered down behind our barricaded room and tried to sleep. We did survive and if you want to be part of something out of a movie, then sign up. Otherwise, pass this up! Warning!

I stayed about 30 minutes until I saw a cockroach walking along the desk. I checked out right afterwards.

The staff at this Travelodge are great very obliging, gave us a later check out as we were going on a cruise. The hotel is tired need some interior work but need a lot of exterior work. In relation to the quality of both Australian and UK travelodges it is well below par. But as my title states you pay for what you get and at $100 per night Aussie its value for money. The taxi fare to the cruise port is around $20 US so it is still cheap compared to hotels closer to the cruise port. There is a Publix supermarket about 100 meters up the road so you don't have to chase a restrauant is you only want a snack.

This motel is well below Australiantravellodge standard but comfortable. As we were staying over night and at $100ausy it's ok. The staff were excellent as we were joint a cruise ship they gave us an extra late check out and allowed us to use the pool after that. They order our taxi refusing payment for that. The taxi fare from motel to Port Everglades we very reasonable. I think my rating of this fits, would I use this again yes at the price.
