I booked the Hotel because it had a gym, the pictures on the website is not the same gym, or it has been made smaller and equipment removed. Hidden car park charges at hotel. Travelodge do not charge extra. However I found every staff member helpful and a pleasure to converse with

Clean and quiet room, the only down side was the bathroom floor which seriously needs replacing, who knows what gremlins lurk within!

The drain in the shower was blocked as the shower tray flooded the grouting on the floor was non existent the place is run down the staff told us disabled car park was free then another member of staff told us it wasn’t and that I would get a parking charge however if I emailed them they would sort it!! I shouldn’t have been told incorrectly in the first place. If you book direct the parking is free! I won’t be returning again!

It’s a nice place to stay and a good value for money. The staff are very nice and helpful. My only challenge was that I stayed here for almost a week without a car; It’s a highway service area (rest stop) and so it’s ideal for people who’re passing through and planning to stay for a night or two. Since I did not have a personal car, getting to train lines was quite pricy, especially since I had to do it everyday. Otherwise I’ll say it’s a nice place to stay for a decent price.

The room had an overwhelming smell of bleach, it was incredibly noisy with the windows opening directly onto the south mimms services car park, the duvet had stains on it. I would not recommend this hotel - if you had nowhere else to stay, it would be fine, but not for the prices.

I’ve stayed at this Ramada a lot; probably more than 100 times, because it’s basic but clean and comfortable. However my last trip was after a full day of international travel to grab a few hours sleep before continuing. I left my iPad in the room - my fault - and I didn’t realise for 4 days when I went to unpack. I emailed the hotel, no response. When I called the next day - I was told “I was just emailing you back” and that my iPad was there BUT the hotel knew which room the iPad was left in and had all my contact details and made no effort to contact me at all, which is technically ‘theft by finding’ and although I now have it back - it just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and feels very dishonest on the hotel staff’s part. I feel like if I hadn’t gotten in touch, they wouldn’t have either despite knowing the iPad belonged to me, so I can’t help but wonder where it would’ve ended up?
