Riu Palace Mexico - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Me and my husband chose this hotel for our honeymoon after doing lots of research, it was our first time visiting Mexico and first time doing an all inclusive trip. We were sooooo happy with everything from start to finish. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, yes it could do with cosmetic updates but I believe this is already due to happen later this year. The bathroom not being separate was a new thing for us but it didn’t bother us in the end. The food was excellent overall, we loved the breakfast and lunch buffets, such a huge choice of fresh and food quality food, something for everyone and different things each day. We chose to eat here some evenings too for convenience. The evening restaurants were mostly great and we appreciated the flexibility of not having to book in advance, waiting times around 30 mins maximum. We were frequent visitors to the coffee bar in the lobby for ‘proper’ coffee and cake/snacks. We aren’t big drinkers but we couldn’t resist the yummy cocktails, Caribbean orange was our fave! The beach is unreal with the most glorious white sand and lovely water for swimming, plenty of sun beds and not too much seaweed. The included water sports were fun, we tried kayaking and boogie boarding. Spent most of our time at the beach as it was quieter than the pools and we are chilled out kind of people. The pool with the swim up bar was more of a lively vibe. All the staff were SO warm, helpful and attentive, they couldn’t do enough for you. Everywhere you look staff are hard at work serving, entertaining. cleaning and maintaining, and the whole place is so well kept and beautiful. Evenings entertainment was great, we enjoyed the shows and went almost every day to one, a couple of times we went to the RIU tequila opposite as their entertainment was different so was nice to have access to that. We didn’t get involved in daytime entertainment as preferred to chill but there was plenty going on. The location was perfect for us, felt really safe being in the gated community and security clearly taken seriously. You can walk to Playa del carmen town in around 30 mins or get a 5 min taxi from outside the hotel. We also did day trips to Cozumel, Xcaret park etc which we booked online through Tripadvisor. Overall, an incredible holiday and would defo recommend this hotel. We are excited to see what it will look like after refurbishment and we would love to return in 2027.

We just returned from a great vacation. My wife and I met our travel partners from Michigan and some of their family. I can't say enough about how friendly and polite the staff are. Always greet you with a smile. Food was terrific. The buffets were always fresh and such a great variety. From main dishes to desserts. Shame on you if you can't find something to eat. Also the specialty restaurants were very good. I loved the Italian restaurant. Their lamb chops were to die for. The Hotel staff were always cleaning something inside or outside. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The location of the Hotel is close to Playa del Carmen and Porto Morales. The beach in front of the Hotel is what pictures are made of. It's spectacular. Will we be back definitely. It was a Perfect Vacation.

We stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico last June for 11 nights all-inclusive and it was simply tremendous. The staff were consistently welcoming, courteous and attentive throughout. The food was excellent, the entertainment lively, and the location perfect. We also loved the atmosphere, especially the parties and access to the neighbouring properties and club. An absolute joy from start to finish — everything just worked brilliantly. Would return without hesitation.

We had an absolutely perfect holiday at the RIU Palace, Mexico, in Playa del Carmen. We've been to dozens of all inclusive and this one is by far the best. The hotel is the perfect size, and has amazing accommodations. It was chill and relaxed with the right amount of activities and entertainment. The service was incredible,... From check in to departure-simply sublime. Very clean. Excellent room service. Terrific food, plenty of options and excellent service in all the restaurants. Very polite and quick to serve. Access to all the other RIU hotels - so plenty of opportunity to party more (if desired). Beach side drink service was added plus. Every day was great, every employee was kind and helpful. Really, really impressed. I read some of the bad reviews and frankly can't imagine what there could possibly be to complain about.

I have stayed here twice before so this was our third time. I think they’re cost cutting a bit too much now. The rooms are worn and dated, but I think it’s due a refurb soon. The food was terrible. For a five star I was so disappointed, the selection was terrible, the quality wasn’t there and at best it was luke warm. Lots of people reported sickness and diarrhoea, which I suffered with and then for the rest of the holiday had stomach twinges. The drinks are mainly ice and never consistently tasted the same. The staff were lovely as always, Pamela in the coffee shop, the staff in the restaurants and the cleaners, all lovely and attentive. They work so hard. It is a lovely resort, the beach is lovely, the pools are nice although cold, but there are plenty of beds and clean towels. They need to stop guests putting towels out at the crack of dawn and not showing up for hours, unfair really.

Don’t Book Rio Palace Mexico.” We spent two full weeks here during Christmas break, and honestly, it’s the worst hotel we’ve ever seen. Cockroaches literally marched across our room floor everyday—I told reception twice, no exterminator showed up. Towels stayed dirty, food was straight up awful and lukewarm. On the beach? Nobody even cared to bring us water unless you screamed. Managers acted deaf, zero fixes. Pure regret—steer clear.

Beach is amazing! Staff is very friendly and the nightly entertainment is wonderful. Food is pretty good for all incisive resort. Location is exceptional.

Rooms are dated. Room service menu and food is bad.
