Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Downtown

This hotel has been renovated recently, and it combines two properties. One side of the hotel has rooms that you enter from the outside hallway and I think those are older and some are situated right on State Street. They don't have balconies and I think the HVAC is old style. The other side feels like real courtyard marriott, with doors from an inside hallway, balconies, and excellent HVAC. I stayed on this side. The room was huge and extremely comfortable in all respects. I enjoyed the pool bar. HOWEVER, and this is important: if you get a room with a balcony and pool view it is **LOUD**. People down in the pool area and pool bar area are LOUD!!! It doesn't go very late at night, but I couldn't even hear my TV because of the noise during late afternoon. Sure, it's a nice view but be prepared!!! I would definitely stay here again but I would want to ensure I got the right room for me.

Super friendly staff, clean facilities and room, easy walk (or short drive) to downtown and the beach, and kids loved the pool while adults enjoyed beverages from the pool bar (who made tasty drinks all wknd). Absolutely coming back and would recommend to all who may be traveling as a family with kids to Santa Barbara!

Noisy group at the pool area. 11:00 pm is too late to shut it down. Especially when other guests have to be up early for work or other reasons.

I travel a lot for business and what I’m looking for is consistency and reliability. The Courtyard is consistently clean, well maintained, and staffed.

Really like this hotel- quaint, 60’s feel (in a good way). The bar snacks are tasty and drinks well made. I try to stay in the renovated rooms. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Great location.

Lovely mid-century vibe akin to Palm Springs but in the heart of beautiful Santa Barbara. The staff was so kind and thoughtful, and really put in the extra effort to make us feel appreciated.
