The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara

What an amazing place with incredible service! I especially want to thank Alanna at the front desk for making our stay so special. We were celebrating an anniversary and baby moon, and she arranged a lovely present in our hotel room—a sweet little bear, a photo frame, and a card. But she was not the only thoughtful one; the restaurants’ servers, for instance, were excellent. Dulce gave us a bear, too! I can’t remember his name (maybe Luis?) but he served us breakfast every day and hand wrote a list of restaurants in the area to check out! The one thing the hotel could work on is the way the host seats people at the breakfast restaurant…it takes way too long. All in all, a wonderful experience for which we are very grateful!

On Monday, the breakfast restaurant could not handle a small breakfast crowd. They appeared to be understaffed. Overall, everything was flawless.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful resort! We’re here for a meeting and had a private event at The Bluff which was a stunning view and the food was phenomenal. Drinks at the lobby bar at night have been great! Had breakfast at the pool bar which was also delish, expensive, but delish. Such a beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful location. General Staff was not up to what I'd expect at a Ritz. I got called Hey lady several times by pool wait staff. Adult pool wait staff sat in corner instead of picking up trash around pool and checking on guests. Had to call front desk at 5 pm to get our room cleaned up. Wait staff didnt clear unused place settings or used small plates. Nothing terrible but not what you'd expect for a top notch place. Beach was ok. Staff needs much more training

The newly refreshed Bacara brings back it's spark. Updated rooms feel brighter, more refined, and finally reflect the level of luxury expected from the brand. The real scene-stealer? The revamped pool area, which now feels more Positano than Pacific. It’s a visual upgrade that doesn’t just look good—it feels aspirational. The kind of place where champagne by the pool actually makes sense. If you haven’t been back since the renovation, now’s the time to rediscover it...less dated grandeur, more intentional coastal elegance.I’m happy to say the front desk team truly stepped up—you can tell they took previous feedback to heart. Service was noticeably more detailed, warm, and genuinely attentive this time around. And as always, the restaurant staff delivered an exceptional experience—professional, intuitive, and perfectly paced. It's clear the team is committed to not just maintaining high standards, but actively improving the guest journey in meaningful ways.

I just had a wonderful Birthday celebration at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara resort in Santa Barbara this weekend. The entire staff from the front desk manager, Ben Kessler to the bell service and Valet service were exceptional. Of course I can’t leave out our thoughtful waiter at the O bar with his excellent recommendations for our dinner, drinks, and dessert. Our suite had a private patio with a fire pit overlooking the ocean perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The resort offered a complimentary Zen Yoga class that was a great warm up before a long hike on the beach. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return soon.
