"Great for a family and near the beach! (Unit 301)"

8.0

My family and I spent 4 days at Sanibel Siesta and had a wonderful experience! While I didn't interact with the staff very much, the few times I did they were very friendly and helpful. The unit we stayed in was a lot LARGER than I was expecting, basically it's a two bedroom apartment. It's right next to the pool and a 3 minute walk to the beach. The other nice thing is that the unit came with a beach umbrella, 12 or so beach chairs, a boogie board, and some kid's beach toys. The only thing missing from the rooms are beach towels, so make sure you pack one for everyone prior to arriving. You can rent them from the main office, but the rate seemed a bit pricey to me so we didn't rent any and trying to find other beach towels on the island didn't return any better results (very pricey and of low quality). The overall state of the room was good, but there were a few things that should have been taken care of prior to our arrival...first, the batteries in the remote on the Master Bedroom TV had leaked battery acid all inside the remote and onto the dresser (not too big of a deal because I wasn't staying at the hotel to watch TV, but still I'm not sure how it was overlooked). Secondly, prior to getting in bed on the first night after pulling back the sheets there was a large, fresh shoe print on one of the pillow cases. NO BUENO! Overall, my family and I were very pleased with our stay at Sanibel Siesta and will definitely consider staying there again in the future.

"Excellent"

8.0

This isn't really a hotel and guests shouldn't expect hotel-style amenities. Its a condo for short term rental. Staff was very nice, but you don't get daily towel and linen service, there aren't restaurant and room service options, and guests are responsible for emptying their own trash (including at the end of a stay). It's very clean and comfortable (although somewhat dated) if you are looking for a 2 bedroom rental with a full kitchen.

"This is not a hotel!!"

2.0

If you are looking for a hotel, where someone clean up your room daily, take the garbage out, change towels, etc. etc. etc., this is not the place for you. This is just an apartment rented by day under the "title" that it is a hotel. If you look for an apartment rental, it is pretty good... Otherwise, forget about it!

"Sanibel siesta on the beach room 112"

8.0

We ( family of 5) arrived really late at night (1am) so the keys to the condo ware left for us in holiday inn hotel... We stayed in room on 4th floor ... The place Wes very clean and had many things that we could use: playpen, extra pillows, lots of towels, two bicycles, beach chairs, umbrella toys for kids... The kitchen was well equipped although we didn't do a lot of cooking. My kids loved the beach, but I think that this beach is nothing like the beaches on captiva island .... Tones of sand .... Sanibel siesta beach Has tiny spot with sand, than lots of crushed shells and water.... Beware of the can't see um bugs!!!! I prefer mosquitoes over cant see ums.

"condo close to the beach"

10.0

We stayed in unit 702. It was just what we needed for our family of four with 2 teenage daughters. 2 bedrooms with a nice living room to relax in when you need break from the beach. The garage was great to have to store our beach gear & keep our car cool. A very short walk to the beach which was not too crowded (plenty of shells). It's noted as a gulf view room but that's pushing it. You can see the ocean from the lanai but the room faces the pond located between 2 of the buildings (which was fine, got to watch a heron grab a fish the first day we were there).

"Nice clean hotel close to beach "

10.0

Everything was perfect. Check in/out was quick and easy. Room was very clean. Also convenient to many shops and restaurants. Only drawback was parking seemed limited. A couple times we got in from a late fishing trip and couldn't find a single parking spot in the entire facility.

"Very nice family place. "

10.0

This Condo resort is a great place where families can be on the own, so you can bring your own groceries and save a bundle on dinner with Full Kitchen, Coffe maker, big fridge. You get your own garage for the car to stay out of the Sun. They also have a great beach with lots of Shells and even live ones.

"The condo was clean and nice...right on the beach!"

8.0

Overall it was a good experience and I am happy. There were a few negatives but nothing major except for closing the pool too early. It was an excellent value for the money. Pros: 1. Condo was nice & very generously stocked. The garage even had beach toys, chairs, etc.! 2. It was very comfortable. 3. The location is great. 4. The beach is very nice. 5. The balconies were screened-in to keep out bugs. 6. Lots of TVs and a great channel selection on DirecTV. Cons: 1. Some minor maintenance was needed. For example, some horizontal blind slats kept falling off, the master bathroom vent fan sounded like it was about to fall out of the ceiling, and the garage door opener did not always fully open the door without manual help (lifting by hand). 2. There is not much privacy as all the condos face either other. So closing the blinds was required. 3. The pool would have been lovely but for some reason they close it right at dusk. So by 8:30pm it was locked and closed. This is prime time for families to enjoy the pool in my opinion. So we were quite disappointed with that. The complex next door (the Holiday Inn) did not close their pool so early and there were always lots of families enjoying evening time there. 10pm is more reasonable. 4. The master bed was rather uncomfortable because it had 2 layers of memory foam on top of it. That made it very hot and a little hard to move in because one's body sinks so far into it. That much memory foam is likely an acquired taste.
