Microtel Inn & Suites Urbandale

We stayed one night on our way to Branson Missouri. Everything was fine with the room. The woman at the front desk was very nice. Breakfast was mostly pastries. There was one waffle maker there, but the line was quite extensive with kids waiting, so we did not use that.

15-minutes before arriving at the hotel, they called to say the handicapped room I reserved was unavailable. I could not understand much after that as I was driving. Told them I’d come there and discuss. Upon arrival was told the room type I requested was no longer available. They said they’d give me a different type room but I told them that since both my wife and I are disabled we require a handicap room. They said no other option available and no other rooms available. I requested they contact a sister property to see if any other rooms were available. Desk clerk refused. I then requested my money be refunded. Again he refused. At this time he was becoming belligerent. After arguing with him for over 45-minutes and demanding he call his manager, his manager told him to give us a room. Miraculously, a handicapped room in a supposedly full hotel became available. We stayed reluctantly, but I can tell you I will never stay with property again, nor this chain ever again. If this is how they treat their customers in this day and time, I suggest no one else ever do business with them either. Really poor experience.

the location was nice and there were several doors you could use to enter to load and unload. the staff was very nice and informative, and the room i was in came with a small peninsula with a sink, a microwave, an area to sit, and a decently sized refrigerator, as well as a loveseat, and was upgraded for me for no additional charge.

the room smelled musty and the carpet was damp, which greatly bothered my allergies. there was dog hair on the fabric furniture, and the bed wasn't very comfortable, but it was okay enough to sleep on. near the ac unit, there were small holes in which insects were able to get through and were crawling back behind some of the furniture there.

I've enjoyed my stay,it's been very convenient, and easy to commute for my business responsibilities

The property has a nice location for the city. There were many convenience stores nearby. I liked how they had complimentary breakfast.

The quality of the property was very low in expectations. I was expecting the rooms to look more put together and overall the building felt slightly run-down.

Everything was fine. We had a quick overnight stay and hit the road early. For the price, quality of breakfast and room cleanliness it was your typical value hotel. It provided what we needed. The room was a bit humid, however

Quick check in....quiet rooms...good breakfast options

No caffeine coffee in the morning. Broken down vehicles with flat tire in parking lot. Mowed around all summer. Trailers with junk on the property. This is a brand new area and this made Microtel look trashy
