"Pros and cons"

7.0

The hotel is very cute from the outside. The pool area is great. There is shuffleboard, a ping pong table, and bags which was great. They had pool toys, goggles, and noodles for the kids. They had a coloring station and crafts for the kids. I appreciated all of these touches. The breakfast was nice, but the furniture was a bit gross. The seats were very torn up and stained. I felt icky sitting on them. I also appreciated that they gave vouchers out for kayaking. My son enjoyed doing that.

The rooms were gross and did not feel clean at all. The furniture was so beat up and rusted. I paid almost $1,400 for two nights - that price does not meet the value whatsoever. The room next to us had a man snoring very loud. We had two noise machines going, but the snoring man kept my husband and I up all night. That shows you how thin the walls are. The staff was also not very accommodating or knowledgeable about anything really. I asked if they had live music out by the pool (I thought I had read that somewhere), and the gentleman working goes "I don't know. I haven't heard of anything like that before, but we had a wild animal show a few days ago." They actually had this wild animal show again while we were there, but they texted us 30 minutes before the show began and we were already out and about for the day. Why wouldn't something like this be on a board in the morning so you can plan your day accordingly? I asked the woman working at the bar (who was sitting on the floor staring at her phone both days we were there) if they had lobster rolls to order. She replied "I don't know. Let me look"....she goes to the computer and presses some buttons and then turns around and say "no, we don't". After speaking to another guest, we determined the resort seemed to be run by young kids who really have no idea what they are doing which obviously didn't make me feel great. Overall, I feel like I overpaid greatly.

"Highly Recommend Lodge on the Cove!"

10.0

The stay was great! The room was large. The beds were super comfortable and all of the family friendly activities available on the property were really cool. The smores kits every day were a nice touch! We also took advantage of the 15 minute walk to town and 11 minute walk to the beach! Loved our stay!

Family friendly, full of amenities. Excellent spot for families, not for couples looking for quiet or pool space. Bicycles available to ride to beach or town. Rooms have doors with windows so that people/kids walking by look right into the room. Pool is full of kids and is part of a pool membership which includes more kids than normal.

The Lodge has a very cool vibe and a nice design, with nice amenities , but it is in need of some attention to the grounds and rooms . Lots of weeds and poor landscaping . The room was clean , but needed painting and there were black marks across the floor . The breakfast consisted of half frozen pastries , yogurt , and coffee . The coffee maker in the room was the cheapest Mr Coffee you can buy and it leaked all over the counter . This place could be amazing , but was not worth the $600+ we paid for it .

They had so many hidden fees that they say were not disclosed due to booking.com however we booked multiple places and did not have this issue. This place was essentially a motel room and the bill was over $500 for one night!!

"Good bones but needs help"

5.0

The grounds were very pretty and well kept. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was nice to have a snack bar.

Upon arrival there was black mold in the shower where the tile meets the tub and on the tile. The towels were ragged, the extra top cover that was up in the closet had a hole in it. The “black out” curtains are just fabric and don’t really work and there is no way to turn the porch light off from the room. The whole place seemed understaffed. Whenever we went into the Dory for a drink or snack, no one was lol available and had to be looked for. There were a lot of locals with swim passes which made finding a lounge chair (which there are few of) hard to get. The number to call in the brochure we were given was disconnected. We had kids Nextdoor in room 26 while their parents were in room 31. Kids should have to be Nextdoor to the parents.

"Wonderful location- a bike ride away from town."

We loved the location and the coziness of the lodge.

Would’ve liked to have warmer blankets in the room although I’m sure if we requested them the staff would’ve provided them For us.

Loved this place! Perfect for families. Loved the free bike rentals, free s’mores kits, continental breakfast with amazing muffins and a good variety of board games. Super close to Main Street and all the shops! Highly recommend!
