Staybridge Suites West Des Moines by IHG

Good hotel. Pet friendly. Quiet.

We were disappointed that the hot tub was closed. Someone had broke glass in it the day before. That was the main reason we had made reservations there was because it had a hot tub. We understand the safety aspect but was really looking for to relaxing. Everything else was great.

Large room with kitchen feature, great breakfast, 24hr pool amenities

Elevator was slow. Shower water was warm, but not hot.

Very friendly staff and nice big clean rooms. We are traveling with two young kids and a large dog. We were all very comfortable and happy as this hotel. We already booked our stay there on our trip home. It is an older hotel but again clean rooms. Also, since older I believe it helped with noise. Never heard anyone else the whole time.

We stayed overnight on points while on a long drive from TX. We only stay in hotels with fitness centers, so pre-booked this hotel. It was only when we checked in at night, when it was too late to change our lodging, that we learned that their fitness center was closed and has been closed almost the entire year, and hotel management does not communicate that fact anywhere other than on the door to the fitness center itself. It was too cold to exercise outside the next morning. >:-( The rest of the hotel is ok. It's aging, but they've remodeled the lobby and breakfast area (which are not closed!). The rooms are dark and aging but ours was clean and quiet. The icemaker in the freezer didn't work and there was loose tile in the bathroom. There are no eat-in restaurants within walking distance, but there are several within driving distance.

Don’t Bother ! The facility is in bad shape. Hot tub does not work, fitness center out of service, the grounds are covered with goose feces, refrigerator in room sounds like a jet at take off and breakfast food items are limited. There are more deficiencies but you get the idea. Have stayed at numerous IHG properties over the last 40 years both personally and professionally-This property falls in the bottom 10%! Will not stay here in the future as there are better IHG properties in the area.
