Thon Hotel Backlund

I was staying in Levanger so that I could visit the island where my great grandfather was born. Excellent location for ferry and railway station. Comfortable room, but, unfortunately, there was no blackout blind, which one would expect in a Norwegian hotel (all hotels in Iceland have them) in the summer. Excellent choice for breakfast. Good choice for dinner with food superbly cooked and presented.

Helt greit hotell, men vi måtte vente veldig lenge på service fra resepsjonen da vi skulle sjekke inn. Tok minst 15 min før noen kom.

Only hotel in town...reception, you could waite 15 minute, no staff. Had to asker for butter, dont eat margarine. No staff two of the days st the breakfast buffe, then no butter.. Rooms small and maintenance average

Good location in central Levanger. The breakfast was nice and the bed was really comfortable. Norway is an expensive country but this hotel had a reasonable price. Easy to park on the square outside.

The room was really hot, sadly no AC on the room.

The beds were hard, and the room was small, the food was ok but at no point was i asked at dinnertime if i had any allergies. The breakfast was the only highpoint of the stay. They also had issues to when i was able to eat dinner.

Utmärkt frukost.

I stayed here for three nights and found the hotel to be bright and clean with extra friendly staff who went out of their way to make my stay as good as possible. The location is literally two streets away from the station and other shops and amenities (and the University is only 15 minutes away on foot). There are also some stunning local walks, all within easy access of the hotel (especially in the snow) I felt a little embarrassed that due to the last minute nature of my trip, I hadn’t learnt any Norwegian. But everyone spoke perfect English anyway ( which was a relief). There is a great restaurant on site, serving some fine foods which I would highly recommend ( the local beer was very good too). Breakfast was self service .. ranging from cooked breakfasts to omelettes, to pancakes, fruit, cereals, meats and cheeses. Checkout is Midday, so there is no great rush to leave in the morning. I should also mention, that there is an iron and ironing board in the basement that you can use.. just ask at reception. I would definitely stay here again
