Big Horn Lodge

This property is a mixed bag. First, it was VERY clean and the guys at the front desk were pleasant. The location at the top end of the main drag puts it in easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. This is a very basic room, painted off white, no decorations except the shower curtain and a couple of mirrors. The only furniture in the room, other than the beds had three drawers, one of which was falling out of the unit, and room for a smaller TV (the TV in the room was too big to fit inside, so it sat on top). There is no closet, but rather a small shelf set in the corner with a clothes rod, which would have been sufficient for our three night stay, but one of the top anchors had pulled out of the wall, leaving the shelf hanging precariously. Finally, we found the mattresses too soft and aged. My smaller wife found herself pulled into my gravity well, and we both had to stretch out kinks each morning. Assuming the damage in this room is a one-off, I would stay here again at the right price, but I don't know that I'd pay $200 per night again.

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. It is far from being a hotel. Apparently, "Lodge" means barely livable. There were only rough approximations of amenities. No daily room cleaning or sheet or towel or drinking cups replacement .Ours had a dirty floor and twigs in the sheets when we arrived. The front desk does not open til 11 a.m., and they do not respond to messages left on the phone so you can not get any help until after 11. Cell service is unreliable. There is no valet, so plan on carrying your bags up a couple of flights of stairs on the outside of the building. Some parking is there, but it is difficult to maneuver . I wonder if they comply with any ADA requirements. Difficult for anyone old or with a disability Coffee machines in room and lobby did not work . The people in Grand Lake were all lovely. This lodge did have a young couple in charge from Romania who did carry my bags up the stairs in the dark. I hope this review will encourage them to spiff the place up. Its only good quality was that it was in town and you could walk most anywhere you needed to eat. I highly recommend going to whatever the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre is playing while you are here. Excellent in every way.

Un peu vieillot et à l’écart du centre ville

Nice, clean older motel in the heart of Grand Lake. Everything was great except the a/c unit made loud clunking/grinding noises all night long and it was too hot in the 2nd floor room to turn it off so we did not sleep well. We were in room #28 or #29 in the corner.

Wifi didn't work most of the time. Good location. Basic motel that is pretty expensive. Won't stay there again.

Rooms a bit small.

They are one of 2 hotels with a hot tub but the price is a lot cheaper than the other one.

The owner manager completely ignored our need for handicap room. I made the reservation months ago. I called and called leaving messages. When I finally got ahold of him he corrected my reservation to the only handicap room, but he failed to notify the reservation system. I arrived to check in and the poor desk clerk had to move another family out of room. This made an uncomfortable stay. The parking is so awkward on a sloping lot. I drive a van with a ramp. My daughter’s room with two children had a stuffed up toilet that was nerves even tried to be plunged. I would like money back on that room with no toilet. We stayed three nights and had room 10 and 25. We were there from July 19 to july22 when we checked out. Please send a refund for the no toilet room!

The location was perfect we could easily walk to eat, shop, and see the beach. Then it was a short drive to hike and see some beautiful sites.

The Big Horn Lodge was good but the first restaurant we went to had a wait for host to seat you sign but no one ever came over and it looked like there was plenty of people working and dining ,One Love Rum, but we left and went to Rockies but are food wasn't good. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken the salad was limp and the chicken was cold my wife ordered a burger medium and it came out rare. We may have missed out on good food at the first place because every time we passed by they were busy. The small taco shop was good and Stagebrush BBQ also. The Wake had the best latte's.
