Hampton Inn San Diego Downtown

The only pros are location and a lower rate than other places around. I can deal with trains and city sounds. But the relentless bell sound from the tracks will drive anyone mad. Like all hours of the day and night. Also, I could hear every word of my neighbor’s tv. Like it might as well have been in my room. Also, when I checked in, they gave me a key to someone else’s room. The girl was nice and fixed it, but still… thankfully I’m honest and didn’t steal their stuff. But I hope nobody came in my room while I was gone.

I booked the property the day before I had to fly out, cause I couldn’t find out of the hotels for a conference in San Diego. This was available through a third-party booking. It was last minute, but I know the brand and it was a was an expectation that I was looking for.

Everything was great The pool was just not ready yet, but I think it’s because it was the season

Location was awesome

Sheets were dirty, had to request change. They offered to have a breakfast bag ready for our early departure, but none of the morning staff knew anything about it.

This is a really great hotel. We stayed for one night a couple of years ago and really liked it so when we were planning a few days in San Diego it was our first choice. Its location is fabulous, we could see the marina from our room with the cruise ships coming and going. It’s just a few minutes walk to Little Italy, so plenty of place to eat for every budget. We had breakfast included and although the buffet area could get quite busy, there is plenty of seating when you’ve got your food. The breakfast was a mix of hot and cold food / drinks. There are hot drinks & water always available in the reception area too. We upgraded our room and it was huge! Very clean and well maintained. There is an outdoor area with seating, subbed & a pool, towels provided. The hotel also has parking available at a charge. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in San Diego.
