The building is a historical property and the staff, particularly the valet are very nice. I did not like the smell inside the building.

The room was dirty, cups were used and had lips marks on it, sheets were used, carpet smells terrbly. Hairs on the sink in bathroom. I’m not coming back there.

I had a short trip to Birmingham and just need a place for one night so I selected this hotel thinking it would be a charming little find. I don't know where the line is for an old building to be redone to become charming and chic, but this one missed the mark. The building is very old, elevators are super small and the space is not impressive at all, it is absolutely not a 4-star hotel. The rooms are old and dated with the furniture needing some love desperately. Don't let the online pictures fool you like I did. The wireless in the rooms does not work, upon check in I got a little piece of paper with the "wireless code" for a network that does not exist on it. Called the front desk 15 minutes after checking in and they gave me a different network to get on, said the one the gave me does not work. When the second one did not work was told my only option was to come down to the lobby and logon. The only option for parking is valet at almost $40 a night for them to park you car in a massive open parking lot across the street or in a deck at the end of the block. Be warned, the valet does not start working until 6:30 a.m. so if you need your car before then, you have to walk to the deck at 5:30 in the morning with all your stuff to get your own car. But don't worry the front desk will give you their key card to scan out of the deck, one of which will not work and you will have to walk back to the hotel to get the other one. Its a fun game to play that early in the morning, in not the greatest of areas But at least you get to come back to the hotel after you finally get out of the deck to give them the key card back. So many things made a very quick trip unpleasant, from the homeless woman who greeted me when I pulled up to the valet or the front desk not having a working printer to print off my final statement. I have to imagine there are much better options than this one in the areas.

None of the fitness center treadmills or bikes worked. The hallways smell like mold. Service is mostly indifferent, and the rooftop bar is depressing. It isn't horrible, but this hotel is so mediocre that it's offensive.

Nice rooftop bar and the breakfast was on point. Staff was very welcoming we appreciated the hospitality.
