Hotel Posada El Rey Sol

I'll start by saying this is the first hotel review I've ever written, so that alone should tell you something. We were in Ensenada for the Baja 500 and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the main stage, making it easy to walk to all the festivities without dealing with traffic or parking headaches. One of the biggest perks for us was the secure courtyard parking. You won't be fitting your race hauler or trailer in there, but if you're driving a chase Jeep, F-150, or similar-sized vehicle, you're good to go. Having a safe place to park overnight gave us great peace of mind. The staff was fantastic. Check-in took all of about three minutes, and everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless. And here's a detail that deserves recognition: it was actually clean, not "we used an entire gallon of Fabuloso and now your eyes are watering" clean. Anyone who's traveled enough knows exactly what I'm talking about! We ate at the restaurant across the street and had an excellent experience. The service was great, the food was outstanding, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the Baja 500 atmosphere while we ate. We've stayed in plenty of hotels throughout Mexico over the years. Obviously, it's hard to compare anything to a luxury resort in Cabo, but outside of that category, this is easily one of the best hotel experiences we've had in Mexico. Clean rooms, great staff, secure parking, excellent location, and a genuine sense of hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ensenada.

The location is hard to beat. It’s within walking distance of all the areas we like to visit. The parking is much better than many other places and the staff are very personable and attentive.

The bad is basically with the comfort of the bed and bedding. It is very, very firm…including the pillows. My father and I woke up with stiff necks and bad backs. I knew I could not take the additional nights left in the reservation so I booked somewhere else at a financial loss. This is unfortunate. Everything else was great but a comfortable bed and bedding should be a top priority. Most hotels I have stayed at hover around medium to somewhat firm, but nothing like this. I hope this changes later since I would like to give another try.

La primera avitacion estaba sucia

Que ahora ya cuentan con cafetería y repostería, adicional al restaurante.

Los frascos de jabón estaban mal, en la ducha estaba el jabón de manos y en el lavamanos el jabón de cuerpo. Lo note hasta que use el de manos en la ducha 😑
