Murrayfield Hotel

The only thing I liked about the hotel was that the people were friendly!!!

This was definitely not a three star hotel. The room was very bad!!! There were stains on the carpet, on the walls and the table was sticky. Very small room not what was advertised in Booking.com. Maybe there were rooms that were good but unfortunately we stayed there two different times and both rooms were horrible. The first time wasn’t too bad but the second time I wouldn’t even take my shoes off. It is very unfortunate that you rely on good reviews and expect to have a room that is clean. The second stay the bathroom shower kept flooding, and there was no place to put our shampoos and soap.

The only thing that was possibly good was the location and the staff was really nice and friendly.

Room was small, the shower kept filling up with water. Definitely not a three star hotel room. There might be other rooms that were nice, but we definitely didn’t have one in either of our stays.

Check in staf was very pleasant and professional and a credit to the hotel. The roof service food was lovelly. Good parking.

The room was very cold and the heating did not work. There was only a very small fan assisted heater which was not suitable to heat the full room. The bathroom was also very cold which really did spoil the visit. I was not aware that the hotel has other buildings in the street. I was therefore given a room in another house three blocks down the road which from the outside looks like a normal house. This has rooms in however there is no staff present in this building therefore it may be a bit intimidating for women on the own.

Beautiful hotel, wonderfully friendly staff and extremely comfy bed.

The Hotel has great access into Edinburgh City Centre as it is located on one of the main raids leading into Princess Street. The main thing I liked about this property were the fantastic staff team who looked after myself and son during our stay. The late night porter was super helpful despite the late hour of our arrival and really looked after us in terms of parking our motorcycles safely. The Breakfast team were charming and efficient. The morning reception team really helped with looking after our luggage after checkout time in order for us to pay a brief visit to Edinburgh city centre. Overall a great team of people who really made us feel welcome. I look forward to visiting again in June.
