Orchard Hotel

Sehr schön eingerichtetes Hotelzimmer mit großem Badezimmer. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Das Personal war unglaublich nett und freundlich sowie hilfsbereit. Gute Kommunikation! Toll fanden wir, dass kostenloses Trinkwasser zum Abfüllen zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. So konnten wir unsere Trinkflaschen für den Tag und die im Zimmer vorhandene Karaffe immer auffüllen und brauchten nichts im Supermarkt kaufen. Die Lage ist ideal, um die Stadt zu erkunden - sehr zentral gelegen. Gleich um die Ecke führt die Cable Car vorbei und der Union Square ist nur zwei Blocks entfernt. Sehr sichere Umgebung. Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe ausreichend vorhanden. Würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen.

Bed was too soft because mattress needs chsnging - sinks in.

Je n'ai pas pu rester tellement je me suis sentie mal en rentrant dans la chambre qui sentait mauvais. J'ai préféré perdre une nuit plutôt que de rester.

Odeur désagréable dans la chambre, déco vieillotte, hôtel décrépis.

the bed was horribly uncomfortable, old, worn out and needs to be replaced. I could feel the box springs, it sank to the center and I could hardly sleep bc of it - I woke up with back pain bc of the mattress - i feel i should be compensated with a partial refund - o am still recovering. PLEASE REPLACE THAT MATTRESS - it is not one that a hotel should have and no human should sleep on that.

Now, this is going to be a difficult review for me to write, because I just do not think I am crazy about the city of San Francisco. The hotel itself was very nice, the staff was friendly, it was actually the same man just about the entire time and he was so sweet. He made us feel very welcome each time we entered the hotel. However, because my understanding of the city, it is hard for me to say it is centrally located considering how un-walkable San Francisco felt. Yes, it may be a 1-2 mile walk to wherever you are going, but that walk is going up and down steep hills, so it makes things more complicated than a leisurely stroll along a sidewalk. We tried taking a street car to Lombard street, but it is a busy street and the stops for each street car are quick, so you have to be fast and mindful of traffic to be able to get on the one right next to the hotel. That being said, if your primary mode of transportation within the city is street cars, I would suggest you have a backup plan because it can be intimidating to run out into that intersection. One thing that we did not like very much was the parking situation. It was paid, and in a general garage. Navigating getting out of the garage as a pedestrian to get to one of the streets we wanted to exit to was kind of confusing and similarly confusing when you are going to park in it as well- nothing that doesn't get resolved with a few minutes of exploration though. Overall, this hotel was very clean, comfortable, and our room was spacious. The staff provided us with a wonderful interaction each day, and the decor was lovely.
