Police were called because I asked for a working TV — this place is unhinged I stayed at this Courtyard Nov 7–8 with my adult son. We each had a king room. I’m a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member, and have stayed at countless Marriott properties over the years. This was, without question, the worst experience I’ve ever had at one. We checked in around 4:30 PM. I requested a room on a higher floor and was told the hotel was fully booked, with the top floor reserved for a football team. That was fine. We dropped our bags and went out for the night. At around 10:30 PM, I asked the night staff (Sue) if we could get our elite member welcome waters and snacks. I understand the policy about third-party bookings, but most Marriott hotels still extend that courtesy to elite members. Not here. Her delivery? “You booked through Expedia. You don’t get that.” Rude, dismissive, and zero customer service. Back in the room, the TV wasn’t working. I called down, asking for help — even just batteries or another remote. Sue’s response didn’t change: “Maintenance is not available, and I’m not maintenance. I’m just the night auditor.” Then she offered to move me to another room — which was strange, because earlier I’d been told the hotel was sold out. Now at nearly 11 PM, a room is suddenly available? I declined. I was already unpacked and ready for an early start the next day. I voiced the inconsistency — still calm. After getting nowhere, she hit me with: “Is there anything else I can help you with?” I replied, honestly and frustrated: “I want a f***ing TV that works.” That’s what did it. She escalated immediately — told me she was calling the police. Then called my room minutes later and said: “Pack your belongings. The police are coming to remove you.” Officers showed up. I calmly explained everything. They apologized and left. No incident. No report. It was a complete waste of everyone’s time. The next morning, I discovered hair in the shower track — clearly not cleaned properly. I showed Michael at checkout. He apologized and said he’d escalate it. No one followed up. This hotel is a trainwreck. Service is hostile. Cleanliness is questionable. And the staff’s overreaction to one frustrated sentence was completely out of line. If Marriott stands behind this behavior, they’ve got bigger problems than a broken TV.
