De Vere Tortworth Court

Just had a fantastic stay at Tortworth Court. The rooms were lovely. The staff work really hard as the rooms were spotless. The hotel is amazing. All of the staff are so friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The evening meal was excellent. The breakfast was lovely too. The swimming pool was lovely and warm. Nothing to fault at all. Everything was perfect. We all had a lovely time. Highly recommended.

Third break at Tortworth Court and it didn't dissapoint. Beautiful building in lovely grounds. Deluxe Courtyard rooms are nicely presented with very comfortable king size bed. Bathroom with walk in rainfall shower and plenty of hot water anytime of day or night. Nice pool and although small a booking process stops it from getting too busy. Leaf Spa offers some wonderful treatments. Food in the hotel restraunt is exceptional, beautifully cooked and first class quality as also is the buffet breakfast where everything you could want is available. All staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. It's a lovely hidden oasis in which to enjoy a very relaxing break.

Big thanks to all the staff especially the young lady who checked us in and also the lovely lady in the restaurant who brought over my birthday cake, I had a wonderful time, the grounds are beautifully maintained. Really great job can't wait to vist again

I booked this for a valentine's weekend away for my husband and I. Such a beautiful and impressive hotel in stunning gardens. It was a very busy weekend for the hotel with a wedding also in progress. I can't praise the hotel and staff enough. We had the valentine's taster menu in the Orangery which was stunning. The food was faultless with paired wines with each course. The following evening we were in the restaurant and again could not fault the quality. An amazing ribeye steak. I used to work for a company of county lifestyle magazine and I've done countless food reviews over the years. This is by far rated top of the list. The staff were very natural and engaging, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Tortworth. Your staff were amazing

Booked the weekend as a surprise trip for my partner. Safe to say that the experience exceeded both of our expectations. The Court is situated in a ideal location to get some peace and quiet which is exactly what we were after. The stunning architecture and gothic atmosphere was breathtaking when we first arrived and never failed to draw our attention when walking around the grounds. The Courtyard Deluxe Room was our home for the weekend and it was far from average. I had purchased the Valentines Day upgrade for a reasonable price and was able to enhance the surprise with a delicate romantic layout. Rose petals, a selection of chocolates, a bottle of Prosecco, a hand-written card, and plenty more in addition that made our weekend extra special. I booked the Four Course Meal and Wine Experience for Valentines evening, the overall menu and paring was perfect. Alex, our host, was extremely helpful and ensured we did not miss out on anything we wanted. The whole experience in the Orangery was a truly remarkable memory that we will hold for a lifetime. We also had Bottomless Afternoon Tea, which included an assortment of delicious food ranging from freshly baked scones to refreshing finger sandwiches. My partner and I opted for bottomless Aperol Spritz and that was exactly what we were given, enough to make us tipsy to our hearts content. Great value for what we were given. Breakfast was included in our stay, the self-service buffet style was perfect for us as we were able to enjoy a variety of foods, hot and cold, as well as a plethora of beverages to choose from. Being able to control what we fancied more or less of was definitely the winner at breakfast. Not to mention the regal setting in which we were able to dine in. Most importantly, I cannot begin to thank the staff enough. From the overall cleanliness of the building maintained by the cleaning crew, to the consistent high level of service provided by the staff behind the desk and the bar, and the staff serving us at each meal as well as the skilled chefs who prepared it all. You have all outdone yourselves and deserve the recognition. You shall certainly see us again in the future! 103.

My husband and I went to the valentines meal in the orangier on the 14th feb it really was outstanding. The room was so pretty with a red rose on every table We couldn’t fault the food at all it was amazing beyond our expectations The staff were all so friendly and catered for your every whim pulling out the ladies chairs putting their napkins on their laps Wine was included in the meal again we couldn’t fault it and our water glasses were always full as well We also stayed over night in the main house it was warm and welcoming again the staff were lovely The room wasn’t perfect but it’s a very old house so there is going to be a bit dust it was quirky which we love and had a lovely view over the garden The only thing I would say is for us as oldies it would have been nice to have some instructors on how to use the shower but we got there in the end We both had a very enjoyable stay and will be going back again soon

I took my mother and daughter for a spa treatment followed by afternoon tea. The Leaf Spa was a lovely experience from start to finish. Friendly welcome, good changing area, bespoke treatment followed by a relaxing after treatment. Staff were professional and responsive, checking in throughout the treatment. Mother and daughter were very happy. Would highly recommend.

What a great afternoon and night away. I had previously stayed at De Vere Cotswold Water Park and, if I’m honest, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had - service, staff, food hotel. It was less than desirable. That visit was a few years ago now, but it did make me hesitant. That said, we decided to give Tortworth Court a try – and I’m so glad we did. We were able to check in early, which was completely unexpected and a lovely surprise. We’d planned to use the spa and have lunch before our official check-in time, so this really set the tone for the stay. We booked a suite in the main house and it was lovely – a great size and very comfortable. I had assumed it would just be a walk-in shower, but we had a shower over bath, which was another welcome bonus. Lunch and afternoon drinks were taken in the Atrium Bar, where the service really stood out. The team were attentive without being overbearing, and consistently recognising when drinks needed filling up etc. Because of this we had no issue at all with the 12.5% service charge. We also opted to take a bottle of wine up to the room in the afternoon, which was easily accommodated. Pre-dinner drinks were enjoyed in the Library Bar before heading back to the Atrium, where there was live music that evening. We preferred the more relaxed atmosphere there and it didn’t disappoint. Despite it being Valentine’s weekend and extremely busy, the level of service never dipped – staff remained attentive, friendly and genuinely superb throughout the evening. We had an okay night’s sleep, but this was purely due to the room being quite warm. We realised earlier in the day that we couldn’t adjust the heating, but we didn’t raise it with the hotel, so that’s on us rather than a criticism. There was a Dyson fan available to us but it was so loud, so that was a bit of a pain in the middle of the night. Again, our error and not the hotels. It’s worth noting for future guests though, particularly in the summer months, as I’ve seen similar comments in other reviews. Overall, it really was a lovely stay and we enjoyed it so much. We’re very much looking forward to making this a tradition – possibly returning in the summer and maybe at Christmas time, both as a couple and with friends.

Difficult to choose where to book an afternoon tea near us as there’s so much choice. We compared a few hotels and headed down to Tortworth on this occasion. The approach to the hotel is beautiful, the building impressive and the interior really well designed. I love the rooms here, especially the restaurant area. So a nice space to have tea. There was plenty of variety on the plates and everything done to a high standard. The staff were great, particularly as they had clearly had a particularly difficult lunch prior to us, but that was overcome and the room was nice and peaceful for us and another couple of occupied tables. So not busy or chaotic. My mum was given an extra plate with a birthday treat on it, which was a lovely touch. No spoilers. Holly made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. She even found plain scones as none of us eat sultanas. All of the cakes and sandwiches were original ideas as opposed to your standard afternoon tea, so that made a difference. I am fond of the place so I like it when things go well and I must say we were looked after. The afternoon tea is extremely reasonable at £30. I know many charging far more for poorer quality. This is definitely a good choice for spoiling someone.
