Baymont by Wyndham Forest City

They had obviously updated the bathroom and the furniture

The update obviously did not include the electric system. It was easy to see that the outlets were still very old.

Broken down vehicle with busted lights in the parking lot. Doors directly face/exit outside of building (external room doors). People were wandering around staring and looking suspicious.

I did not feel safe and we left and booked at a different hotel.

Pillows are terrible. Kinda like putting your head on a concrete block and trying to sleep!

The room was clean, but it did smell of smoke. It was designated a non-smoking room. The hotel is very well lit at night.

Room looked the same as it did in pictures from 1-2 years ago. Needs paint in several places, and the celing needs patching. The bed pillows are very small and hard.
