We stayed for one night on our way to Liberia for a departing flight and we loved it! Great, rustic Costa Rican hotel. The hotel and rooms are simple but absolutely spotless. Huge refreshing pool, amazing food at the restaurant and perfectly authentic. The breakfast was also great, especially the coffee.
I didn't plan to stay here, I booked it when my flight was so delayed I was stranded in Liberia for the night. I was a little worried about the "great service, poor cleanliness" reviews ... and had no reason to be. At worst, this hotel is plain, but it was certainly clean. The layout is easy to navigate, the pool is delightful, the room was clean, comfortable beds and adequate a/c in them. The breakfast (which is included!) was FANTASTIC. I actually moaned when I drank the coffee haha. And the service? Better than ANY 5-star I have ever stayed at. I would plan to stay here again. Thank you for treating me so well and making a terrifying experience calming and comforting.

Excellent alway around
Las Espuelas was a great stay for me in Liberia while I waited for transportation into Nicaragua. The property was beautiful, the pool and pool area tranquil, and the bar/restaurant/breakfast had delicious food.
This is a modest hotel that is well kept and well managed. The staff are gracious and helpful. It was the last leg of our 3 weeks in Costa Rica - close to Liberia airport - and convenient to local stores and restaurants. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained.
Nice hotel, needs a little maintenance, some stuffs are outdated, but overall it was a nice stay
I didn’t like much, the restaurant was not very good and I got overcharged. Definitely don’t recommend.
This is an inexpensive, clean, comfortable and safe place to hang your hat for the night. Good service and free Tico breakfast.
