Red Lion Templin's Hotel on the River

Location is beautiful, quit and safe. Restaurant was good, slightly overpriced but good food and good service.

The employee who checked us in was good; he hit every point with the exception of giving us the wi-fi network name and password. When we called the front desk, for this information, nobody answered the phone. When I walked down to the front desk there was nobody there. The room was fine, clean, comfortable and quiet. What was really unacceptable is the fact that there was no hot water to the shower and no adjustment was made to the price when I reported the problem. No hot water is a serious problem in a handicap accessible room! When we went to check out, again nobody was at the front desk and nobody to answer phone calls. I am very familiar with customer service and can imagine some of the challenges operating a facility of this size. However, if you cannot keep the facility staffed sufficiently you should consider taking on less customers and/or lowering your prices. The location is prime but the service is unacceptable.

A shower hooked up to hot water would have been nice. The sink had it. Also, this was a handicapped room. I don't know where it's written that handicapped people don't need a bathroom shelf surface for holding toiletries, but we do. None present at Templin's. You also need higher toilets and not of the itty-bitty round variety. The Dam Bar was good. I didn't try the restaurant for breakfast, so I hope that has improved from my last visit, when I sat there for twenty minutes listening to the staff in back laughing it up over something, then left for the Old European Cafe. You have a premier site with Templin's. Start treating it like the resort it's supposed to be. I've been staying there for nearly fifty years, but this last experience--at least where hot water for the shower is concerned, has me thinking this week's was the last time.

It was an older room, but it was clean and the bathroom was clean.

The property needs updating badly. The grounds weren’t kept up, the wood on the balcony was worn and ripe for slivers if touched. No coffee makers in rooms. We were there in 1994 and I honestly think very little is different.

Staff, parking, view, pool

Thought we were getting a king bed in a separate room from the living room. That was not so. Carpet is stained, and floor is super unlevel underneath. Maid service didn't bother tidying up the room. The lighted mirror in the bathroom flickers so badly, I thought I was in a Resident Evil™ movie. It's pretty far from anything. There are no shelves for toiletries in the shower. The toilet leaks, has a tiny round bowl (c'mon people, elongated is the only way to go. I thought we were passed the oppressive round bowl era), and is old. I'm talking 3 gal per flush old. Definitely over priced for what we got.

Excellent location on the river. Friendly staff. Restaurant on site. Good value. Pet friendly with no added fees.

We’ve stayed there before and like the location. Was fairly quiet.

The bed was awful! It was broken down and my husband kept rolling off.
