Delta Hotels by Marriott Helena Colonial

Only went to the restaurant because of its good ratings on other websites. Food was very good, and the service was good. It is an upscale restaurant, not your typical Montana “casino”. Would definitely recommend

First of all, I am a loyal Marriott Elite member. This is the first time ever I stay at a Delta Hotel class of Marriott hotels. Cleanliness: The awful smell of old carpet will hit your nose once you enter the room. Followed by the creaking noise of the floor. Then the ugly dirty stains of the old carpet. Attempt to make a cup of tea, you find a cup unwrapped from the cover with red lipstick on one side. So, you decide to go to wash your hands from touching the used cup, you good not find a cleansing soap…. Yes, no toiletries….. so you wash your hands with just water, and when to move to dry them, the white towels hanging been used and abused for many years became to rough that can scratch your skin….. ALL YOUR SENSES HAVE BEEN TESTED TO THE FULLEST. Sleep Quality: it was torture…. By all means. From the loud AC to the terrible old used and abused mattresses and pillows, a total of 1 hour sleep (I swear to God of that) my fitness Garmin pulse ox/heart rate/sleep monitor attests to that. Amenities: the single unit AC is so load almost like a struggling/dying motor. I recorded the noise level using a sound meter and recorders an average of 73.9 decibel (range 72-77.6 decibels). You cannot sleep without earplugs at that level of noise. The bathroom: the toilet seat is too short and too close to the wall, not suitable for elderly, tall, or overweight people. The toilet papers roll is to the end, either need to be replaced or remove several squares and fold the end to show that it was serviced. The shower drain is clogged. What a disaster. Staff/Service: front desk staff are nice and friendly. We explained to the manager that this room needs attention and cannot be serviced to human beings as is. She too notes and our phone number for follow up. Never heard from her. Housekeeping needs a lesson of how to clean guest rooms. No excuse. Property/Facilities: I was petrified when I saw it from outside. I thought it is a rundown motel….. I was relieved for 5 minutes to see the lobby…. Until the shock experienced inside the room. Location: not far from I-15 Value: ripe-off Overall rating! Zero out of a million. (My usual rating is stars, start with one for terrible stay and 5 for excellent one. This one is out of the grid. Recommendations: To fellow travelers: Don’t stay there For my respectful Marriott executives: My recommendation is to tear down this terrible building and raise a Springhill suite instead. And of-course, hire a new loyal and competent housekeeping staff.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Needs some renovating and revamping. Bathrooms are super old looking, the duvet had a small blood stain on it, outdoor pool was closed due to being broken, and although I’m a MB Member, I booked via a third party and they didn’t allow me to have any of the perks. Being a member is being a member and should be allowed to have access to the perks, regardless of not collecting points via direct booking.

Helpful staff. We needed a comb and they had one!. The place was clean. Beds were fabulous as were the blackout blinds. The AC changed the room temperature quickly. The rooms had a lot of space.

I have never been to a nice hotel where there were no guests. We saw one or two cars in the parking lot and no one until we checked out. This was a bit unsettling and made us think we picked an undesirable hotel. A few specific things that were below expectation. The outside building looks updated but inside it is dated. Elevator would not fit a dolly. We found no outside seating for enjoying the sun.
