The rooms are so small and dirty

The customer service was very lacking. The front desk clerk was determined to keep our $100 damage deposit because of a few dog hairs and a couple specs of blood on a sheet.

Let's talk about this hotel. La Quinta is usually pretty good hotel wise and for the main purpose it's fine but you don't just pick a hotel based on the fact that it's a place to sleep. Amenities matter. First the room. Our suite was comfortable. The bed was fine. However there were ants and lady bugs in the room. Actually the room was the best part of the whole stay. Breakfast was functional but they had the same thing every day I was here and a limited service on Christmas Day. I get that you want to give the person who normally does it the day off but there should at least be the full service...not that it's hard to reheat cooked sausage, biscuits and make instant gravy and put out some Cream Cheese for the bagels. Of the other amenities...they have a pool...but it was only operational for the first day of my stay and was down. The gym is comical. They had a stationary bike and a treadmill...both of which were not working. They also have an elliptical and a dip rack and one 15 lb set of dumbbells. I would be more ok with this if it was closer to a Planet Fitness or if it was safe to go on a run outside considering how nice the weather is but this location there's literally nowhere truly safe. I had my ruck with me so I did go on a walk at great risk to my life from the frequent trucks at this exit. Finally the room keys were so damn sensitive to either phones or earbud cases...they'd wipe themselves. They need to upgrade these to an RF id style key which is more compatible with modern life. That said, if you just need a place to stay that has a serviceable breakfast then the place is fine but for as much as my bill for the stay is you can do better.
