Minos Beach Art Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels

The facility and the stuff were amazing. They were always very kind and positive, and the surrounding was very beautiful. We would love to go back for sure.

It was very windy, but due to different beach angles, we always managed to find a good spot.

The staff and service generally were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious and stylish. Beautiful grounds, pool, structures, art etc. We will 10p% return.

The only thing that was not exceptional was the food. It was a mix of decent and not great. We had 1 very good meal and several average ones. Breakfast is very good

Paid luxury prices (2800 for 3 nights in a waterfront suite), was expecting luxury but found what felt like tired, 3* facilities. The rooms are small and in need of renovation. The air conditioner didn’t work, it shut off with loud beeping every couple of hours—meaning that we were woken up multiple times throughout the night either by the noise or the heat. When we mentioned this to staff they told us it was because they were eco friendly. Eco friendly or not, if we are paying those kinds of prices we expect to be able to sleep well in a comfortable room at night. The bathroom kept giving wafts of sewage smell, there was water damage on the bathroom countertop, and the bedding was cheap and rough. We were told we had a ‘private’ waterfront area with our room—but there were 4 chairs placed in front of our room rather than 2, and a guest from a room further back in the hotel (not in a waterfront suite) seemed to think they also belonged to his room, so we had no privacy during the stay. There are tons of babies and children at this hotel, and I love children but it was a bit much as listening to temper tantrums at breakfast or watching parents change diapers on beach chairs completely kills any romantic mood the hotel is trying to create. The six senses in Elounda is a much better choice at these prices. Don’t be fooled by the photos—this is not what you will find.
