It’s located in a bit of a noisy area

Staying at Hotel Bissau Palace was like stepping back in time, we felt like we were staying in a museum. It had an old world charm and ambiance. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant had a wide range of food, all of the dishes we tried were delicious. They also had a travel desk to assist with tours and guides. Laundry could be sent out and returned within the same day.

The bathrooms could do with a bit of an upgrade, low water pressure combined with calcified shower heads made it a bit difficult. The fans and air cons were noisy and do with a service. The area outside the grounds was a bit full on, was a bit of a ways out from things.

This is an elegant property with beautiful gardens and spaces to escape the bustle of Jaipur. The breakfast was beautiful and staff were very happy to help with any recommendations.

Lovely staff, restful location and spacious room. Good buffet breakfast included. The resident peacock was an unexpected treat.

Noisy air-con.

This building is a protected monument and was a magnificent palace when it was inaugurated in the 1870s. Unfortunately, the last renovations probably date back to the 1930s, and since then not even a piece of furniture has been touched. Although this may be fascinating as a veritable “time capsule”, if you are looking for a bit of comfort, this is not the place for you.

The beds are uncomfortable because they are too soft. The swimming pool was unusable because it was dirty (full of pigeons) and some parts were broken. The breakfast was very basic and the staff were indifferent at best (I have never felt so invisible in my life).

Staying in this hotel was like staying in palaces we have visited throughout India. It is absolutely beautiful and could be a museum. It is an oasis centrally located within the hectic city of Jaipur yet is tranquil inside. Great breakfast and well priced drinks. We only reduced the rating due to the shower not being great and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. With a few new sheets and towels this could be an exceptional experience.
