Clean room and a bed

Nice quiet location. Room size was good and they had a refrigerator for my medication needs

Bed could be a little firmer

Convenient for our travel plans. Breakfast selection was very good.Room was clean and well appointed.

The room had an odd somewhat unpleasant smell. The bathroom door and the closet door would not close completely unless you lifted them up. The plaster finishes in the bathroom looked very sloppy considering the place just opened (see photos)

Room was comfortable

Breakfast was pretty much carbs - muffins, bagels, no protein other than hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, bananas, apples. Nice coffee area, but the decaf gave me a sludge of coffee grounds at the end of my cup. The hotel is apparently "dog friendly". While my room (2nd floor) did not smell, the hallway smelled like a kennel (wet-dog/urine smells). I specifically requested a room where pets did not stay.

We were initially overcharged for our room, and when I asked for a receipt at check-in, one was not provided. I only discovered the issue after reviewing my credit card statement and noticing that the charges did not match the amount I had agreed to through my Booking.com reservation. I had specifically booked the room under the “pay at the property” option, so there should have been clear documentation of the charges at check-in. Instead, my credit card was charged nearly double the advertised rate listed on Booking.com. I addressed the issue with the morning clerk, and she ultimately adjusted the bill back to the original amount shown on my Booking.com reservation. While I appreciate that the correction was eventually made, it was frustrating and concerning to discover the discrepancy only after being charged.

The facilities were old and dated, and it seemed like they simply put a fresh coat of paint over everything rather than making real updates. Because the property is pet-friendly, there was a noticeable dog odor throughout the building, and carpet in the bedrooms probably was not the best choice. Another major issue was the noise. The doors slammed loudly every time someone entered or exited a room, which kept us awake throughout the night and constantly caused the dogs to bark. Overall, the stay was far less comfortable than expected.
