Casa Madrona Hotel and Spa

Stayed at Casa Madrona for a visit with family in Sausalito, and it was tremendous. Fantastic location, very large and comfortable room, and very reasonably priced. A *very* minor question about the bill was quickly resolved. Highly recommended! One tip: The air conditioning / heat in our room had, I think, been programmed by a previous guest to raise & lower the temperature at various times. If that happens, it's probably easiest to call the Front Desk rather than try to resolve it yourself.

More than a month after having my car broken into inside the hotel’s own parking area — where my Passport, MacBook, iPad and other belongings were stolen — Casa Madrona continues to deny any responsibility without offering a real explanation. What makes this even more unacceptable is that a hotel employee explicitly told me the parking area was safe and monitored. I tried to resolve this privately and cooperated in every step, but the lack of accountability and professionalism is astonishing for a hotel of this category.

The location is fantastic. I loved being in the historic section of the hotel.

I didn't ask enough questions about use of spa. I guess that when I read it was only open from Thursday to Sunday, I figured everything was closed. Maybe I could have used the steam room. Not sure.

Fantastic location, excellent views, very comfortable

We stayed in the mansion suite, located in the upper part of the property. The suite itself is very nice and well-appointed, but unfortunately our experience was negatively impacted by unexpected venue events taking place directly below the room. On our first night, there was a wedding party with loud music from the afternoon until 10 PM. On the second night, another corporate event was held in the same space and continued until 9 PM. This level of noise is far beyond what would be expected at a hotel of this category, and we were never informed in advance that such events would be taking place during our stay. We contacted the front desk several times regarding the noise on the first day and were told that the music would stop at 7 PM, but it actually continued until 10 PM. Sausalito is fantastic but our stay was impacted by these issues. With proper communication and noise expectations set at the time of booking we would have opted for a different room or property.

Sausalito is a tiny, picturesque town just north of San Francisco. We were there for a family event. There are limited hotel and AirBnB options and unfortunately Casa Madrona is billed as the best. Maybe that is true but it is only relative to the other choices in town. The rooms are nice albeit you can hear street noise. Other than a spa which we didn’t experience the hotel literally has zero other amenities. A tiny lobby area, no restaurant, no gym, you cant even get a coffee. Yes there are stores and restaurants nearby but for the $500 per night they charge it just offers no value whatsoever.
