"WORST Hotel I've EVER Booked, Literally!"

2.0

Literally the WORST hotel I've EVER booked Firstly, there is a link to the video of my flooded room. I've dubbed in the conversation with the rudest manager I've ever talked to, Cleo, as I was checking out. This is her backpedaling on what she'd told me and refusing to accept any accountability for what happened during my stay. She tells me here to call the company and their insurance will compensate me for any damage and my missed parade tickets. I called them 4 times on the drive home and twice once home and never NEVER did anything. I'll never stay at this chain again and hope no one else does either. dropbox.com/scl/fi/cj29d8asv7qq2e2nyunku/ExtendedFlood.MOV?rlkey=sntp4od235l4eeu7rr303jr4q&st=f98mi3lh&dl=0 I booked this hotel for Mardi Gras 2024. It took me some time to actually get over the shock and anger from my stay before I could even write this review. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would! The hotel was run down in general, but I never hold this against a place as long as it's clean. But it was bad. There was a small kitchen where the appliances were caked with grime. The carpet was dingy, but I just told myself it was a place to sleep because I was out most of the time. Thankfully, I had booked a different place to stay for the first week of my trip and this hellhole the last week, only. I wouldn't have complained too much, other than I had wished it was cleaner. But, the Sunday before Mardi Gras, I got into the shower to get ready for the parade that morning. While showering, the metal spigot for the tub, plus the metal piece to turn the water on and off came flying off the wall. I'd been a little worried because the piece was loose, I noticed as I turned it on. Water came out of the wall with tremendous pressure (picture a fire hydrant letting loose). The piece hit me in the leg and the water pressure was so hard my skin was stinging and I couldn't see due to the sheer volume of water shooting out of the wall. I actually managed to get out of the tub without falling somehow, but by that time the water, I suppose due to the amount now jetting free, had turned ice cold. I immediately had tried to put the piece back with no luck with the sheer pressure and I'm sure it was just broken. I was freezing at this point and wrapped up in a towel and ran to the phone. I called the front desk and could hardly get out any words because I was so cold I was stuttering and gasping for air...I'm not exaggerating here at all. I told them as best I could, finally getting out they need to come up immediately because the room was filling up with water and still shooting out of the wall. I knew someone would be there, so I pulled on pajamas from the bed over my soaked body. I tried to get everything of the floor I could. In about 30 seconds there was a knock and I let in a man, who I assumed was an employee. Thank heavens for this guy. He ran into the bathroom, getting soaked himself to the bone and held towels over the hole in the wall where the water was shooting out. I found out as he was sitting there that he was a guest in the room below me. He worked in construction and heard the loud bang when the hardware shot off and the water exploding out of the wall. It was at least another two minutes before anyone from the hotel showed up. At this point, I was sitting on something crying and in shock. I was drenched and cold. The manager, Cleo, came up and apologized and said they would get another room for me. Then, she disappeared. There was another guy who was doing something, but I was kind of out of it at that point. Cleo came back with another room key. I was understanding at first and gave them a chance to make it right. They failed miserably. Cleo told me she was going to "comp my stay." She did ask if I needed to go to the hospital, after I told her what happened with the spigot shooting off and hitting me in the leg. It hurt but I didn't need medical attention. Luckily, I only ended up with a nasty bruise, but the skin wasn't broken. So, Cleo disappeared again. I waited for a few minutes because I thought, surely, the hotel staff was going down to get a cart and help me move everything to the new room. Nope. So, in my soaked pajamas, freezing and still in shock I started moving things. Two of my bags were soaked on the bottom and some of my makeup and toiletry items were ruined. Turned out that the new room was up a floor and across to the opposite end of the hotel. So about halfway into making this trek, dripping wet and carrying as much as I could at a time, I moved stuff to the other end of the hotel alone. One of the housekeeping employees saw me moving stuff and crying as I did so and asked me what was wrong. I explained what happened and she cursed under her breath and said she couldn't believe they did left me alone to move everything. In the new room, I had one bag left to bring and up pops Cleo. She asked THEN (almost a half hour later) if I needed help. The housekeeper had been down to tell her how upset I was. I said, "Now, when I have one bag left to bring over? No thanks." I then proceeded to tell her how outraged I was that they let a woman soaked to the bone go through what I just had. She actually said, "Do you need to go to the hospital." That was literally her ONLY concern. I told her again, no. I did let her know some of my stuff was ruined and that they had caused me to miss the parade and that I expected to be reimbursed for that. That's when I got the first BS line about their insurance company reimbursing me. And let me tell you I called. 4 times on the way home and another 2. Every time I called I was told by Extended Stay that they were going to escalate my case and someone would call me back THAT day. That never happened. THEY NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL ME BACK. I will never stay in one of their hotels again! After I gathered my bearings, I looked around the new room. There are pictures: there was a used contact lens on the kitchen floor. The drain in the bathtub was hideously disgusting. There was one outlet where I could plug in my phone charger and it was so loose the plug was falling out. Just nasty. I've never been so happy to check out of a place in my life!! On the day I left, I went downstairs to chat with Cleo. They only comped three nights of my stay. After that? The place wasn't worth paying to stay in without the flooding incident. Plus, never got a call from corporate. Beware and stay away! She lied even though I was holding my phone up recording her. And that rude as eff tone? I have my own business and have worked in customer service for years. You do not talk to customers like that, especially after their room was flooded by your LACK of ANY maintenance and because you don't want to adequately and responsibly deal with a bad situation. WORST HOTEL EVER!!! And I've stayed at a lot of them.

"Never again"

3.0

This hotel is hood, after a certain time no one is available, beds are hard as hell, has roaches, get cleaned every 14 days is the sign that was placed in the room. Had a sign in the hall that you take your own trash to the dumpster not the house keeper. We stayed on the second floor. The only good things I could say it was quiet. We booked for family only 2 towels were in the room. I called for more towels and I never received them until I went to the desk the next morning and asked again. You get what you pay for I guess.

Limited supplies, no wash cloths. Only 1 bar of soap and no shampoo. First room really stinked, but the receptionist gave us another room that was clean.
