Convenience to my doctor’s appointment. Nice front desk. We discussed a book she was reading. Not typical. Very engaging. Give me real conversationalists any day!

I never stayed walked in the room for and walked out room smelled when heat turned on smelly dust came out . Called front desk young girl working would not contact the manager for me to get another room or refund. I reserved at another facility. Horrible!! Need a refund issued since, I contacted the BBB. Even the elevator was filthy !

Property was well-located, close to retail outlets, supermarkets, and restaurants, but set apart enough for comfortable access and parking. Friendly and helpful desk staff, who also gave us a useful gift for accepting IHG membership. (Bottled water and microwave popcorn, which actually came in handy on this trip!) Maintenance and housekeeping staff were personable and accommodating, and always greeted us each day. Breakfast was lovely and was available until 10am -- an hour longer than many. It included the usual items and fresh fruit, but also constant heating for breakfast pastries, a fridge with milk (including chocolate milk), boiled eggs, yogurt, and cheese sticks. The breakfast area was well-stocked, had two very decent coffee machines, and provided takeaway bags. We found the beds comfortable, and especially liked the choice of soft and firm pillows. The breakfast room and lobby were comfortable, clean, and spacious.

The bathroom was a bit awkward. It was spacious and clean, but didn't make very good use of that space: the toilet paper rolls were located so far down that the paper could easily touch the floor. The soap and lotion dispensers were on the wall, far away from the sink, and they easily dropped liquid onto the floor. There was a grip handle beside the bath/shower, but it was uselessly located, so you couldn't grab it if needed. These were small irritations in an otherwise excellent experience.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Location was good. Would stay again if I was in Algonquin.

We arrived early. I went in to ask if they had a place to store my luggage until check-in. Before I could get the words out of my mouth I was cut off and told I arrived too early. Wasn’t asking to check in, just to store my suitcase for a bit. When I finally asked the question, I was cut off again and told there wasn’t room behind the counter and the front desk people didn’t have room for that. Then told I could put them in a conference room. I asked if it was secure and told no. I then asked if the 2 of the 3 rooms I reserved could be near each other so I could be near my blind mother to help her. Again, before I could complete my sentence, I was told the manager had already assigned the rooms and she couldn’t help me. So I gave up with Tina and loaded my bags on a cart. I had to get to a wedding rehearsal. The hotel engineer graciously took our bags and locked them in a conference room. When we arrived back to the hotel later that evening and were able to check I , the 3 rooms were all VERY separate. (Floors). We got our bags and went to our rooms. I went to get my mom settled first and the roo She was assigned was not clean or the bed made up. Somehow the front desk person (not Tina) was able to assign another to us. Now I had 2 rooms in the same hallway so we could be near my mom. The room I got had black stuff from in the toilet but we
