Hotel Indigo Detroit Downtown by IHG

Valet parking, walkable to Ford Field and Martin’s Campus

It was very noisy. We were close to elevator and room did not shield us from noise. Lots of late night people coming back loudly.

Nice bed . Nice location . Nice staff . Right across the street from a sandwich spot , it was open late which was perfect traveling with teens!

Omg the parking . Hated it . The valet didn’t look. Any more safe than the lot it’s apart of . The $10 was worth saving by parking our selves.

booked two rooms at Hotel Indigo Detroit but had a medical emergency and couldn’t make the trip or cancel in time. I understand no-show policies, but I hoped IHG or the hotel would show some understanding given the circumstances. I’ve spent hours calling, emailing, and trying to reach someone who actually has the authority to make an exception. I did get replies each time, but every person told me they couldn’t help and that they were sticking with the decision not to refund. The IHG chat also dropped the conversation on me, and it’s extremely difficult to reach anyone beyond the basic customer service level—it all feels automated, and you can’t get to someone who can truly make a decision. They also asked for medical invoices, which I felt was inappropriate. Losing $627 per room over something completely out of my control has been really discouraging. I stay with IHG often and had looked forward to trying this hotel, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. I’m sharing this so others are aware that even in an emergency, there may be no flexibility or compassion.
