Aspen Suites Hotel Fairbanks

Appalling behaviour from Robert, the general manager. Rude, disrespectful and unwelcoming. Booked an eight-night stay for a business trip. A local friend drove me to the hotel for check-in, where I realized I had mistakenly forgotten my ID. Obviously, we got turned away. “Guess we have to come back,” I said audibly at the front desk, then backtracked across town to get my purse. I returned within an hour ready to check in, but suddenly the front doors were locked. Manager Robert comes to inform me that he CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION. Claimed the reason for cancellation is that I left without saying anything, which my friend quickly corroborated was untrue. Why terminate a week-long booking without notice anyway? To make matters worse, my colleague’s flight was severely delayed so she could not receive my messages, and she arrived at the Extended Stay after midnight looking for our room which no longer existed. In his version of events, Robert tells my coworker that I am “unprofessional” (remind me who is the paying customer, and who WORKS here?), and even takes the liberty to share his distasteful assumptions about the friend I was with. As a general manager, Robert’s level of concern with my unrelated third-party is disturbing and borderline racist. Thankfully, we switched to a different company nearby where the friendly, inviting atmosphere is highly appreciated after our ridiculous experience here. After reading up on other reviews, we are not the first customers to be mistreated and wrongly disallowed from the property. If you’re looking for a pleasant stay, then stay far away from this place.

The Staff, was incredibly helpful and friendly. Even when my dog had a couple of accidents in the hall way. Robert the General manager even recommended when we take the weekly rate when we were only going to pay for 6 days it gave us another day to figure things out. I would recommend to anyone with or without pets!

The room was very comfortable and clean. It was also large, with a small kitchen area and full size fridge, so there was plenty of room to spread out in.

Entrance to the lobby was controlled with a buzzer. This was a bit awkward when unloading the car. The swimming pool was locked but there was no notice as to why.

We had a wonderful stay.Staff was friendly and helpful.Only recommendation would be to upgrade mattresses for the beds.

The room was nice and the breakfast was ok. It would have been nice if they had eggs 🥚 and bacon 🥓 or something hot 🔥 to eat. The swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool wasn't available when I went; so I couldn't use it. Which was disappointing to me. The staff was nice and friendly.
