good place for one night stay

Stains on carpet, chair, and door don’t always work with keycard.

Good breakfast. Would be nice to have additional restaurants near by.

I can’t believe that it is a Holiday Inn!

Couldn't get a receipt. They said it would be emailed but never received one.

Location it was convenient

They wanted to clean and fix bed,but they didn’t perform the service.

Very nice hotel, comfy room, good breakfast. Breakfast staff always asked if we wanted bottled water to take for the day which was really nice. Was a restaurant within walking distance.

We recently traveled 9 days/8 nights across the southeast and stayed at 8 different hotels: 5 Holiday Inn Expresses & 3 Holiday Inns. I will submit a review for each hotel and rate them based on the usual factors plus in comparison with others of the same IHG brand: 4th night-Holiday Inn Express-Plymouth, NC This hotel was going to receive a 2/5 for its rating until breakfast made it a 3 and the manager at check-out then made it a 4! It was not an HIE "and suites" so I wasn't expecting an upgrade, but we were given a larger room than expected, at least in set-up, #203. I could see my car from the window. The light by the bed (side closer to the bathroom) didn't work. I wasn't sure if it was the bulb or the apparatus? There was an ice bucket but no ice machines anywhere, but we did get a bag of (free) ice at the front desk, when the guy who checked us in was there and not outside smoking. I tried to call the front desk a few times from the room, but it went to a quick busy! I was surprised that the room had a safe in the armoire, and the tub came as an unexpected surprise, but this is obviously an older hotel. The hand wash was empty by the sink, and the body wash in the shower had less than a teaspoon. The water pressure in the sink was extremely low. I found the bed a little soft so not too comfortable for me. There was a loose spring on my side closer to the window that made a noise every time I got in and out of the bed. I did enjoy the chaise lounge (also unexpected) in the corner for watching TV and catching up on my emails and such. The wifi worked very well. I was dreading going down for breakfast, my favorite meal of the day, but was happily surprise by a very, very good breakfast. It was the best at an HIE location on this adventure. Dale was on top of everything-the top highlight of this stay! A working pancake machine with sugar-free syrup, turkey sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs w/cheese, egg white veggie omelets, nice large biscuits & sausage gravy plus usual cereals, pastries, etc. The juice machine didn't have a water slot like most so Dale provided bottles of water. All good for tasty and fulfilling start to day. In conclusion, what started out as the worst stay on this trip became a 4/5 stay. The price was very good with no unexpected charges, the breakfast was the best HIE one on this trip, and the manager gave me bonus points for the issues in the room plus the fact that I wasn't given any welcome points by the check-in guy! I recommend if you can deal with a few issues but expect a top notch breakfast, especially if Dale is in charge!

It was a little expensive for the small town of Plymouth.
