ibis Glasgow City Centre – Sauchiehall St

Good location 24 hour reception

It was obvious this is a asylum hotel. Very disconcerting having multiple nationality occupancy. Lots of young men hanging around. The room although very tiny was adequate for a stop over, however once we returned the room smelt so strongly of methane smell from bathroom we felt bound to ask for another room. As it was full we actually applied for refund and checked out at 10.45pm due to feeling unsafe which is quite a statement given we were in the middle of Glasgow and felt safer outside with no alternative hotel. Luckily we found the Ibis could take us which allowed us to rest.

There were so many good restaurants around the hotel and the main shopping area wasn’t that far.

Too far from the main train station, hilly landscape thus went through real hardships to get to the hotel with big suitcases. The WC flush did not work. Since we checked- in towards early evening the plumbing service was provided only in the morning. Until such time we had to use the common bathroom which was on the first floor until the next day until 10 am. We were going in a tour thus we were very stressed about having to be ready on time etc etc …… if we were ok to use a common bathroom we would have booked a cheaper hotel with common toilets.

Je weet wat je krijgt. Prima kamer om te slapen. Ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Ontbijt en de locatie ook prima!

Location was good. Rooms were clean. Walking distance to the train and bus stations

The toilet flush was very old. My friends room flush stopped working and they could only fix it the next day in the morning.
