Very clean, easy onsite parking and close to Stowe

Stayed two nights in a Mountain View room in the second building. No Mountain Views but pleasant view of greenery. The room was nice, just needed an extra chair. Bathroom was a good size with two shower heads. WiFi worked well, beds were comfy. Room ran a little warm. Parking is limited for the second building so sometimes we had to park in the main lot and walk over which wasn’t a big deal. Local bakery next door to grab a quick breakfast at.

There is nothing about this place that feels like a resort. It feels like it’s best years are behind it, and that’s mirrored by the Best of 2013 award that’s on display. The staff are certainly friendly but if you’re looking for 1 of the 34 beautifully renovated rooms it wouldn’t be the one in the main building we stayed in. That’s the same room where the heat in the building and hallways was so oppressive that even opening a window completely with it in the 50s outside at night wasn’t enough to compensate and the window unit AC wouldn’t stay running long enough to help. It was uncomfortably warm for sleeping. If you want decent amenities bring your own. It’s conveniently located near the main part of Stowe, but the next time we’re in town we’ll look at other options.

The location was prime. Very nice bike/walk path behind facilities. Easy walk to restaurants. Small convenience store right next door with excellent coffee. The room we had was #29 and the room was a wonderful size and location. Two demerits. Bathtub had a bit of mold. Stairs leading down to room is very steep. A lot for a 68 year old man to carry 2 large suitcases. Even though the old man is a certified gym rat.

The beds are not comfortable. You can hear every step someone takes on the floor above the cabin. The resort is clean and staff are polite.
