Dodge House Hotel & Convention Center

Upon arrival it took 25 minutes to get checked in, man working desk was evidently training a young lady. Although there was not much training to be seen. He gave her stern demands and she cowered and did as told. Finally when getting into our room, it was very dated. Paint coming off walls, broken entertainment center, carpet was so nasty I would even go barefoot. It was sticky was sticking to our shoes! Volume on tv went up and down all on its own. No outlets by the bed. Shower did have great pressure and hot water, however I could have done without the dirty handprints from previous occupants. I would not say it’s the worst place I have stayed but for sure won’t be shelling out over $125 a night for this stay again.

Manager checking us in was not welcoming at all. He was supposed to be training a lady, but didn’t educate once during check in. He was very demanding with instruction when it was given and she looked miserable and embarrassed. Toilet seat was broken and room door sounded like it was going to break when you opened it. There is also definitely a need for better and more outlets. Outlets were very loose and could potentially be a fire hazard. Definitely not worth the cost of a one night stay.

My two star rating could be a little harsh, but I think it’s appropriate. I think it was once an 80’s vintage “Holidome”, a large area with a pool and convention center surrounded by motel rooms. I was kind of surprised the rooms have no outside light. The doors and windows open facing the pool/convention center, very odd. The place is pretty rundown. Our room was large and had a TV, but that’s really the only positive thing I can say. The shower valve is about to fail. What an experience that’s going to be LOL. The flouresant light over the sink flickered continually and was kind of creepy. This place needs to be totally renovated, but the 80’s Holidome concept isn’t really an option. I would predict, sometime in the near future the place will be knocked down. We read the less than stellar reviews before booking the room and knew what to expect. We were passing through and didn’t spend much time there. That being said, no way would I ever consider staying there again.

This property could be a showpiece. Bath outdated, worn, noisy ffaucets, loud fan, shabby carpet, curtains and linens. Area where.I was told to walk my Service Dog (grass at edge of parking lot) had lots of broken glass. Staff needs education about Service Dogs, ADA/Federal laws, etc.

This place was disgusting! Maybe in it's day 75 years or so ago it was nice. Now it is a disgrace!. Filthy room, tv did not work - I had the desk clerk come and he got it working - the first time I changed channel it went off again. We were tired so didn't mess with getting him again. The carpet was so dirty it was even sticky and the room smelled awful. Our friends wouldn't even use the shower in their room! Then the next morning they had left two notes on each of our windshields telling us we should not have parked there. And the desk clerk followed our friend out that morning and gave him a hard time about it too. We were not blocking anything at all and were not told anything about parking when we checked in. Stay as far away from this place as possible!!

It was comfortable

I had a terrible time getting anyone to answer the phone or even be at the desk the next morning. I had booked two nights accidentally and was going to use it for my advantage for a later check out, but couldn’t get a hold of anyone to help. The second night was non-refundable and we still had to vacate at 11am. Check in was smooth and the guy who helped the first night was nice. Other than that, wouldn’t stay again.
