Spark by Hilton Walker Grand Rapids North

Location was great, staff was wonderful. All we needed was a place to sleep and this hotel was way more than we expected for the price.

The breakfast was very basic, but still met our needs.

Very nice for the price.

Other people staying there at the time were loud.

The location was good, the staff was nice, and our room was nice and quiet. We stayed here and drove to holland for the tulip festival so the location was perfect with a Starbucks and gas station across the street.

The breakfast was pretty sparse. It was fine for something quick. But something we didn’t like was multiple towels and wash cloths we had in our room had previous stains. Black from makeup removal, and other stains. They smelled clean but could use better bleaching. And our room had some previous coffee drips on the floor that were from before our stay. And there were splatter marks at the bottom of a standing mirror hung on the wall. Since it was instantly visible on looking, we would have liked better attention to detail on cleanliness.

It was clean.

Our dog was barking and someone from the staff actually kicked our door, threatening to kick us out. Our dog stopped immediately, but had been barking at the screaming kids next door.

Gym has little stuff, some machines are out of order. Breakfast is pretty frugal.

Staff super friendly. Place was clean, amenities like coffee and fruit in the lobby were really nice.

Breakfast was bare bones and—most important for us, traveling for an event with lots of ice packs and frozen items—the tiny fridge cannot keep anything frozen. Also, ice maker on our floor was broken, so circumventing the no-freezer-refrigerator with ice in our coolers meant taking the elevator down to the lobby and back. Also, Comfort Inn next door had EV chargers but none at the Hilton. Hm.

The bedroom pillows are soft.

The quality of the rooms are dropping off, sometimes the room entrance and bathroom floor doesn't look clean. The nightstand tables are sticky sometimes.

Location to the highway and close to downtown Grand Rapids. Staff was friendly.

The outside was overgrown and unkept. Stains and dated details. Reminds me of a remodeled old hotel with thin plaster walls, elevator jerks, just remodeled not truly updated.
