The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake

Excellent place to stay in Mumbai. Airport is around 20-30 mins away. I had booked a large lake view room but since other members of my group were in different tower so i chose to opt for a twin bed lake view room. Good part is twin bed is larger that most other hotels , like a queen size bed. Rooms are quite spacious , beds are comfortable , food is excellent. Breakfast buffet offers good variety. There is good gym that has good equipment range. Highly recommend this place in Mumbai.

I had high hopes for this place at the end of our journey. Not a typical WESTIN and not in a good way. It all started with an email reaching out to me several days before our arrival which I thought was a good sign. I replied with several requests and never got a reply back from Mrs Shetty ( front desk mgr) nor the 10 people she included in the email. Upon arrival it was chaos as if we were just a walk up booking. They could not locate the 4 rooms I booked. The amount of confusion at checkin was unreal. One of the rooms they cancelled and rebooked it as I found out after the fact which made no sense. No acknowledgment of being an ambassador or what amenities is offered until I inquired. My profile was not acknowledged as it stated away from the elevators on a high floor which high floor is not always possible but out my four rooms they put me right in front of the elevator which was annoying. The room reaked of a musty smell which now my clothes and suitcases do as well. Front desk had the approach that there is nothing that can be done. Caught up to the front desk mgr Mrs Shetty and did not get much of an apology but a lot of excuses from why she did not reply to my email although she had 10 other people on the distribution with still no response. It was more of a blowoff in my view. As stated not a typical WESTIN. Property was previously a Renaissance which it should have stayed that way. This is the first Marriott in my 14 years and over 3300 nights stay that I believe the front desk manager should be replaced as it appears most of the chaos and lack of professionalism stems from Mrs Deepa Shetty with her lack of or nonchalant attitude regarding issues and not adhering to the Marriott way. Have reported this as I am a loyalist to Marriott and the basic experience from a front desk Mgr was not met. Surely will not be back although the property was nice.

Amazing!! You don't even feel like you in Mumbai. A beautiful, quite retreat away from the hustle and bustle.
