Holiday Inn Express Southampton West by IHG

It was clean and friendly

I didn't like the price it was very expensive for 1 night I had booked a different hotel in Winchester but it was terrible mucky so I had to book something last minute for that evening

Every time we stay here we have a fantastic welcome and a very comfortable stay. Nice breakfast in roomy dining area. Good parking.

Nice room with double bed and settee. On the top floor which I like. Good shower. Decent breakfast.

Room was rather hot inspite of leaving the window open. But unavoidable given the temperature outside and the lack of air conditioning. Not keen on fans and didn’t therefore use the one provided. Unfortunate that the dining area looks out on a blank wall of the adjoining industrial unit when the view used to be of a field with occasional deer many years ago.

The bed was comfortable The room was adequate, nice shower and bathroom Plenty of places to put things The staff were very nice and helpful The location was good and as expected

The duvet was very thick and no alternative in the room. The lack of air conditioning and the window not opening very far meant the room was very hot and stuffy. The breakfast was ok, although there could have been a bit more choice of fruit with the yogurt and maybe some fried eggs as well as scrambled.
