"Great location. "

6.0

Lovely location and amazing for walks. We requested a firm mattress (at 11am when we reached the hotel) and we were told it would be arranged. When we returned at 5pm to check in, they didn’t provide that in the room which is very unfortunate when you are paying a premium price. The lady in the evening was very helpful and provided a thin mattress to put on the floor which was very helpful. That being said it was an uncomfortable night. I felt that we were misled.

"Such a shame"

6.0

Lovely staff , but very few of them. Two staff in reception, but only one computer, so we had to wait 15 mins to check in. Waited an hour to order breakfast as there was often only one waitress working in the dinning room. Dinner wasn’t great either for the money. My main portion was no bigger than the starter. The Dinning room is soulless , and the modernisation of the interior is crass in places. It was one of dream hotels and when we finally could afford to stay there for one night, it was a dreadful let down. Bedroom was a bit cramped but lovely bathroom and huge bath.

"Pleasant but could of been much better"

8.0

Loo ok very location and venue, sadly room and outside wasn’t upto scratch. This was a very expensive room and the garden hadn’t been maintained in some weeks. No housekeeping due to covid but no offer of extra water or toiletries over the 2 day stay. Residents bar closed at 22:45 on the Saturday evening, felt like the hotel was understaffed.

"Lovely base for a mini Cotswolds break"

10.0

Loved everything about our room - big, massive bed, roll top bath, powerful shower. (We stayed in Beech room in the old stable block) The Staff were lovely and super helpful. We enjoyed having breakfast delivered to our room in the morning, again nothing seemed too much trouble for the team there and all felt very Covid safe. Enjoyed our autumn walk around and between lower and upper slaughter very much too. Lunch at the sister hotel (the slaughters country inn) opposite was less impressive - good food but unhelpful staff and cold environment (we had to ask 3 times for them to light the fire next to our table so we could take our coats off!)

"A nice stay but a little over-priced "

8.0

We enjoyed our stay at the Slaughter’s Manor House. For the price of the hotel though - there were a few things lacking that stopped us from giving it five stars: 1) no alternative milks 2) only instant decaf coffee 3) on both mornings at breakfast the waiter forgot an item from our order 4) the room size was on the smaller front. But, we did have a nice stay and would return if we were able to get a deal that meant we weren’t paying £250+ and therefore expecting excellent service and amenities.

"Excellent"

8.0

I understand the current situation but there are a few points I think that do need addressing. We had a dog with us and on arrival no one explained where dogs were allowed until we basically got collared walking back in to the main house by one of the staff. The main issue I had with our stay is cleanliness. Considering we paid almost £600 for a couple of nights I noticed that the bathroom wasn't that clean with all the grout being horribly discoloured and some of the shower area just looked like it hadn't been wiped over in a while. There are also no poo bins for dog waste anywhere around the building. Having said that, the staff were lovely and always polite if a little slow. The quality of food was excellent and reasonably priced. The grounds are stunning and the buildings themselves are incredibly picturesque. All in all we did enjoy it but I can't help but feel the hotel relies a bit on the setting and the building itself to sell rooms.

We had a lovely stay at The Slaughters Manor House. Each member of the staff was kind and helpful; the room was spacious, cozy, and well-equipped; the grounds were gorgeous. We wish we stayed longer!
